i have to set EQ to get rid of the S730's problem..which it hurts my ear....

i know this a bit off topic, but which sound card to get? Creative X-fi elite pro OEM(RM3xx) or Asus Xonar D2x(RM5xx) to go with either edifier C3 or S730?

setting the S730 treble level does not help? afaik S730 is not that bright...

Haha, damn it's really heavy. Well I don't even dare to set my volume over 25 lol. Still messing with the settings to get the sound I want =P

Agree. When I was using the S730, even setting the treble at +4, I still feel that it doesn't really meet my expectation, however, I wasn't using any SC by then.

yeap...S730 is not that bright..if i listen to songs like usher..it kicks my ass...but if i listen to adam lambert and without EQ i kick him back... ...but now I LOVE MY S730 with good EQ...

Perhaps you needa pair the S730 with a good SC..
I think that will solve the problem..
I met the prob with my Edifier R1900T3 too.
I changed my SC then no prob d..

all speakers need a good soundcard to drive them.

Guys, I'm in dilemma of picking one from these few speakers that i have listed down.

Well my budget is pretty not more than 550, hence my desire for s730 is canceled. (so as sound stick 2).

I would like something that works good with music like jazz,orchestra, rock, pop with clarity and tight bass.

but at the same time doesn't lose out too much at hip hop, rap, techno, trance and house.


I'm using a Creative Audigy 2 ZS pro, wasn't cheap back then. Guess its good enough to fire something sweet?

So:

- S330
- Z-2300 (dont think it suits me?)
- C3
- R1900T III

OR perhaps something else that you guys could recommend please?

all speakers are great except the logitech z-2300

I'd choose R1900TIII and C3
because
R1900TIII very good in music
C3 got external amp and remote control

but I think you should choose S330
great all rounder

why not try Edifier R2000T? Just giving some opinions...

go audition it yourself... cuz different ppl different taste

I can recommend Edifier R1900TIII or Edifier S2000V
but both won't be as good as Aego M

I see that you recommend people on s730 a lot. haha However i couldn't afford buying that lovely thing.

On the other hand, for RM400, I favor C3 and S330 more. But at the same time, I couldn't still differentiate the general differences of both.
I'm aware that auditioning with own ears matters the most in the end. However, I couldn't find a quiet shop which has S330 and C3 on display, yet.

So perhaps power911, you could explain more on this 2 models please?

well i don't think AEGO M is better than S2000V, at least for me. also iirc the S2000V is also slightly more expensive than the AEGO M.
