QUOTE(DolphinDiver007 @ Nov 2 2009, 04:23 PM) lol it was a question i asked long long long time ago =P.. ur Q is which one is better kan? Tested it myself, the 50mm 1.8 and the 50mm 1.4 Both can fit your cam. U see, the price difference for this 2 lens is RM5-600 ish. F1.8 is RM520 where as the F1.4 is RM1.2k (i think larr) The bokeh on the F1.4 is killer.. the picture that comes out is sooo sharp until can poke ur eyes out.. dont get me wrong, the F1.8 is sharp, but got see a bittt of difference when u zoom it up.. And the bokeh effect on the f1.8 is less.. aside from that, the f1.8 is not a FF lens. When u pair the f1.4 with a850, the images comes out soooooo pretty, one thing, the f1.4 is FF lens.. Come out for TT with us and you can test it out yourself =) Its poison time |

if budget permits, get a 50mm f1.4... if budget is not so high, get the 50mm f1.8... orrr... if you're lucky, can find a Minolta 50mm f1.7, would be good enough already... Loving mine to the end...

i hve the sony newest 50mm f1.8
its quite fun to use the bokeh, but sometimes at f1.8 it opens too wide the subject some part of it is blurred out too...never tested the f1.4 cos no budget, but the f1.8 is doable for now....been using it as a my everyday lens, somehow framing might be a problem if you are not used to the fixed length and need to be creative lo.... |

DolphinDiver007 : If you're planning to go FF one day then invest in the 50 f1.4
Else the 50 f1.8 should be good enough unless you always shoot in half lit areas like master albnok when he is shooting gigs in restaurants and clubs. |

QUOTE(jimlim007 @ Nov 2 2009, 05:44 PM) ugly price, pg also can get rm750, what is w/o shipment cost from KL to pg, at least save rm5 KL here also can get for that price. There's also the mythical 699 price. I've called around sunway piramid and none (some even quoted up to 800 bucks) and none avail. So its mythbusted i guess |
