New Poison...

be real careful!
but A850 and A900 user probably has antipoison shield... or immune to it, at least...

Ugh... being poisoned again... hope it's a 14mp FF camera... hehehe... and hope it's cheaper... tongue.gif then can afford...

QUOTE(electron @ Oct 31 2009, 03:54 PM)
hi sifus,
any comment on the minolta 28-75 f2.8 and the tamron 70-210 SP LD f2.8 (yup, 70-210, not 70-200)
having someone going to the US, so hope to find some bargain old but gold lense
in addition, can the minolta flash be used on alpha, cos if can find cheap (again) might want to try

thanks.
*
somehow love the 28-75 f2.8 minolta than the tammy... more oomph with the images than the tammy...

Konica Minolta 35-70 F3.5-4.5 at rm150

go or no go?
*
nope... no go... coz it's like you're using 50-105 (eq to 35mm FF sensors...) lens... later... my advice is to save 1st and just use what you have for now... much more worth it...

if budget permits, get a 50mm f1.4... if budget is not so high, get the 50mm f1.8... orrr... if you're lucky, can find a Minolta 50mm f1.7, would be good enough already... Loving mine to the end... biggrin.gif

A question here for "Uncle" albnok... Rm3200 for a brand new a700, is that an ok price or am I just going to be ripped off??... or, should I save some more and sell off my a200 to get the a850 instead???

Braynumb: Do you want full frame or not? Are you prepared with FF lenses?
*
Honestly, I don't think I'm ready for FF yet... but hunting for a cheaper a700 is like looking for a needle in a haystack...

QUOTE(shootkk @ Nov 4 2009, 11:46 AM)
Braynumb : RM3200 for a brand new A700 with full warranty is a fair price.

As for FF or not, then it's up to what you already have. Looking at your lens collection I would suggest that you stick with the A700. Going FF, you will only have the 50mm lens to play around with. I don't know if your prinzflex 28mm is a FF lens or not.

The 16-105 can work on the FF but you will have difficulties trying to frame your shots as the markers for the APS-C area in the viewfinder is quite difficult to see. Trust me - I've tried it and it's quite frustrating.

For my recent Taiwan trip, I borrowed a Minolta 24-85mm lens from a friend of mine. The lens has a bit of a back focus problem and has some problems focussing on areas close to you when zoomed out to max but I used it mainly for wide landscape shots and kept the aperture to f8 so it's okay.

So for you, it's best you keep the 16-105 on the A700. No need to hunt for extra lenses.
*
Was thinking of the same thing... since most of my lenses are not made for FF anyway... I'm seriously in pain while waiting for the release of the a700 replacement... anybody has any news of when and how much???

Braynumb: I would not call any lens STF-like; it means you still don't understand what the STF bokeh really looks like.

finejava: We can have another TT with a Sony Carl Zeiss Planar T* 85mm F1.4 owner, or a Minolta 85mm F1.4G owner. biggrin.gif
*
i've seen and I've learned... could only afford the 100-200 f4.5 for now... hehehe... so, will use that till I can really afford a better lens later...

QUOTE(hazril @ Nov 7 2009, 01:04 AM)

grab this. for friend who are getting a battery or what so ever that still deciding between eneloop or sony or Gp new reclye something. forget it. grab this. and add 1 more pack of imedion batts. RM165+RM49 = RM214 shipped to ur doorstep.

why?

(i am not quoting from the site, my experince and knowledge of it).
1. i liked the free car kit. when i was traveling in taiwan, i charge my batt on the car all the time wink.gif useful! even at weddings, sometime the first set habis, u use spare, u can leave ur 1st set charge in the car... others charger? no car kit
2. fast and slow mode. slow mode u have the time. fast (1hr 90% full) (30m = 70% give and take.)
3. i like the design, where the power adapter is seperate from the main charger unit (lighter) (so u can use the car kit)

why imedion. the only reason i can give it, i notice it recycle faster then others, and wont easily overheat too. (all my friend who use to use GP(only can get GP in my town) now all switch to imedion tongue.gif
okay, sorry, i am not doing a marketing. for the eneloop or other brand fans, i am sorry, i hope i did not insult anyone. i am just trying to make up those mind who keep thinking and reconsidering over and over which battery to get.

Added on November 11, 2009, 11:13 pm

just pay rm50 to mr. KKK, say keep the change. then he has to do free shipping LOL
*
how about eneloop?? also can be a good choice wo... so far, no complaints from me... used it continuously during an 15hr event... lasted the whole event and the next morning...

also found this Eneloop battery seller.. nice price too...
