If you mean by PB D2D Visa Debit card, you just need to keep pumping money into your PB account which linked with that card. The transaction limit should be able to change either over the counter or at any PB ATM.

the transaction limit also can be changed via online banking, right?

i already register and hold public bank visa debit card and already send the confirmation to link my debit card to my paypal account.

my question, should i need to add fund in my debit card or just use it normally like a credit card?

How should i do to add funds in my debit card and set the transaction limit? hmm.gif
Just make sure you have sufficient money inside your PLUS Savings Account before buying stuff. As for the transaction limit, it can be changed anytime at any Public Bank ATM. The maximum purchase limit can be set is RM10,000/day while withdrawal limit is RM5,000/day.

No. You can't. It must be done at Public Bank ATM.

Not really. They are still issuing out the old Blue color MEPS ATM card and the annual fee is only RM8.

Like that arr.. I payed rm 12 for my card. Does this means PB cheated me when I say I want ATM card only? The officer (young lady) just told me this is the latest card, I mentioned that I don't want debit card, but she says all new cards is debit card already, so i just accept it only.... vmad.gif

Both the old ATM card and the new D2D VISA are both debit card actually. Just that the old blue color ATM is solely based on MEPS platform and you may only use it to pay for stuff at merchants that accept MEPS.

It looks like PLUS Savings Account is the only account that can be issued with Day2Day VISA debit card. All other accounts can only be issued with the old MEPS ATM card. I was told that for PLUS Savings Account holders, we can choose either the old MEPS ATM card or D2D VISA debit card.

I saw the advertisement for the new HLB VISA debit card in last Saturday's STAR. It is stated that the first 50,000 to switch will be given the card FOC.

I have successfully link my debit card with my paypal account. But I cannot add fund into paypal account from my bank account

"PayPal does not currently offer the ability to add funds from your bank account.

When you make a payment, PayPal charges the buyer's credit card and instantly credits the seller's PayPal account"

So it means, i can pay to the seller even though i have insufficient fund in my paypal account? hmm.gif

Is it a gift card from Commonwealth Bank ? Either way, yes you can but there will be a nominal fee applies to each withdrawal.

For Paypal, you can either choose Maybank Cherry VISA debit card or Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card. Both are linked to your bank account. Just request for the card will do and it will be issued to you right away.

If you want a debit card that is not linked to your bank account, you might consider Public Bank VISA Electron. You will have to mail your application form with all other necessary documents to Public Bank card centre in KL or just send the application form to any Public Bank branches nationwide and their staff will forward it to their HQ. It will take about 3 weeks to process your application.

Must I be 18+ to request/make a debit card? What are the charges for this(just roughly)?

..and if I don't want to use the card anymore, must I cancel it or does it get canceled after a period of inactivity?

For Public Bank, you need to be at least 12-year-old to be eligible for their debit card. Not very sure about Maybank but i suspect it is the same.

For Public Bank Day2Day VISA, the annual fee is RM12 but it does come with a pretty good cash back system. Maybank on the other hand, gives you an option not to pay annual fee but only comes with 4 FREE ATM cash withdrawals per month or RM8/pa for unlimited ATM withdrawal.

Public Bank does offer some annual fee free debit card such as Manchester United VISA debit card, UTAR debit Mastercard and TARC debit Mastercard. But for the Manchester United VISA debit card, you must swipe the card at least 12 times in a year to get the annual fee waived which i believe is a piece of cake right ? biggrin.gif

For Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card and Maybank Cherry VISA debit card, the card will automatically become inactive once your savings account become dormant.

As for all other Public Bank series of debit card, you will need to properly cancel it by writing in or request for card cancellation at any Public Bank branch.
