QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jan 27 2010, 10:39 PM) For Paypal, you can either choose Maybank Cherry VISA debit card or Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card. Both are linked to your bank account. Just request for the card will do and it will be issued to you right away. Must I be 18+ to request/make a debit card? What are the charges for this(just roughly)? If you want a debit card that is not linked to your bank account, you might consider Public Bank VISA Electron. You will have to mail your application form with all other necessary documents to Public Bank card centre in KL or just send the application form to any Public Bank branches nationwide and their staff will forward it to their HQ. It will take about 3 weeks to process your application. ..and if I don't want to use the card anymore, must I cancel it or does it get canceled after a period of inactivity? |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jan 28 2010, 12:11 PM) For Public Bank, you need to be at least 12-year-old to be eligible for their debit card. Not very sure about Maybank but i suspect it is the same. So if I need a "prepaid" style card (not linked to any account) for Paypal transaction, and I'm not 18 yet, I can choose Public Bank Visa Electron? For Public Bank Day2Day VISA, the annual fee is RM12 but it does come with a pretty good cash back system. Maybank on the other hand, gives you an option not to pay annual fee but only comes with 4 FREE ATM cash withdrawals per month or RM8/pa for unlimited ATM withdrawal. Public Bank does offer some annual fee free debit card such as Manchester United VISA debit card, UTAR debit Mastercard and TARC debit Mastercard. But for the Manchester United VISA debit card, you must swipe the card at least 12 times in a year to get the annual fee waived which i believe is a piece of cake right ? For Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card and Maybank Cherry VISA debit card, the card will automatically become inactive once your savings account become dormant. As for all other Public Bank series of debit card, you will need to properly cancel it by writing in or request for card cancellation at any Public Bank branch. If so, how do I top up the money for Public Bank Visa Electron card? |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jan 29 2010, 03:39 PM) Yes. You can. The annual fee for this card is RM24 but it will be automatically waived if you charge more than RM1000 into the card in one year. and i can find PBB cash deposit machines in Public Bank branches right? Thanks for your help! I was quite lost before and I think I'm getting Public Bank Visa Electron now :3If you already have a savings or current account with Public Bank, you can simply perform a fund transfer either via online banking or any Public Bank ATM. The other way is via PBB cash deposit machine. |
