Hi ya ... I am newbie to MTBs but looking for the best bike for <1K. What are my options and where can I get them ? I am around 70KG & 173CM. What size should I be looking at ?

Basically looking for one with front suspension and probably majority 85% road and some offroad. Heard rear suspension reduces efficiency.

Any comments or feedback would be great. Thanks.

for bike high, the bike upper frame should have 2-3 inches clearance from ur crotch when u standing with both feet flat on ground n bike between the leg.

<1k u probabily can get a very entry lvl bike aka "sport utility bike", unless u get a 2nd hand.

IMHO if getting a new bike, get one without any suspension since u probably get a poorly made front suspension for bike <1k.

You may try also Raleigh/Rockbike/GTS brand... quality is not bad, in which i think better than polygon. Price range usually near to Rm1K. Shop's location can be found here >>> www.tscycle.com/

Just saw GIANT SUPERLIGHT XTC FR FRAMESET (1.2kg only) post in BBS

Dilema  sad.gif

Giant Xtc Frame sell in BBS
*
I don't think it's 1.2kg lor.

2010 XTC Advanced (non-SL) full carbon frame is 1.2kg so even if they could, I don't think Giant will great a lighter aluminum version to fight with their own product lor.
I reckon it should be closer to 1.6kg as it's visually the same as the ATX Pro frame.

Hey mate, long time no see.
No offense but a frame around RM400 -> RM700 would be an understatement when you put parts like Avid Elixir CR and SRAM XO Groupset. doh.gif
Like my friend said, no point having Rock Shox SID/Shimano XTR Groupset on T-Bolt frame. shakehead.gif

Merida, Orbea, Giant or Trek bikes. Any recommendation? And Model pls looking for size 16. Just basic bike. Will upgrade components later when bonus comes in.
