In a dilemma. Want to buy a beginner's bike budget range 1500 to 2K.
Merida, Orbea, Giant or Trek bikes. Any recommendation? And Model pls looking for size 16. Just basic bike. Will upgrade components later when bonus comes in.

Same to my problem not long ago...
But i recomend this

Giant frame
user posted image

Frame : Giant Aluxx ( get the soul 1st)
Other just assemble bbasic component

or maybe u have to spend more time to find the complete set of bike ( have to visit more than 2 bicycle shop)
good luck!!

Do remember before buy the bike... TEST IT
1. The clearance when u stand between tube the bike ( which u feel comfort)
2. The distance between saddle & handle bar

Giant Yukon Disc!
Can't remember the price though, you could ask Rodalink, Bangsar. icon_rolleyes.gif

yukon disk for this budget, scott also not bad.

confirmed giant 2010 model will be in earlier of next month. if you can wait, then you can get discounted 2009 model.

Yeap, I recommended the Yukon Disc.
Btw, if not mistaken. Rodalink already got 2010 models but I think for Polygon and not Giant. tongue.gif
Will go and check.

MattJ, let's go and visit few shops (maybe with our si-foos). We will know what to recommend. First of all, the basic things to know are your height and weight so that we can recommend you the right frame size for your planned riding style.

To those who just came back from Shah Alam Extreme Park just now, thanks a lot for your time. Enjoyed so much on the 4X track. biggrin.gif

Hey mate, long time no see.
No offense but a frame around RM400 -> RM700 would be an understatement when you put parts like Avid Elixir CR and SRAM XO Groupset. doh.gif
Like my friend said, no point having Rock Shox SID/Shimano XTR Groupset on T-Bolt frame. shakehead.gif
Thanks, no extra cost for oversized luggage check in?

I think I stick to my Scott Scale 60 again. And get newer parts. biggrin.gif

FRIM RIDES THIS WEEKEND----------Looks like it's gonna be packed with Riders.....
ps: contact numbers below belong to PCC and PBH riders.

PCC FRIM RIDE
Date: 8 November 2009
Start time: 730am
Distance: 20 km
Starting Point: Sg Buloh Lepersy Hospital Car park.
Getting There: Google Map Sungai Buloh Hospital. Or if you are lazy, click this link here.
GOOGLE MAP LOCATION-FRIM,
Ride description: For a fit beginner as the initial climb to the top can be tiring. However the rest of the ride is quite easy with nice fast flowing trails. Do be wary of hikers, as they have right of way. Fast speed “ride bys” may seem fun to you, but it’s not that great for them, so do slow down and letthem know you are passing by. Remember Murphy’s Law, kids will always jump into the path of your bike...and they will normally do it under your braking distance. So take special note on this as there are loads of them there.
Contact person: Adrian (012 383 2618) / Alvin (012 3070830)
