how is the warranty like? price more or less like those vios g advertised on paper.
btw, 31k mileage for a TEST DRIVE CAR is damn a lot. it must have gone through a hell of abuse sweat.gif
to many ppl, TEST DRIVE CAR = a car that you can trash to the the max tongue.gif
the choice is yours. you could test drive the car too and see if there is unusual sound from underneath / engine / doors....
tight suspension / no squeaking in corner and even tyres wear. just to list a few.
since it was a test drive car, make sure no outstanding summon too tongue.gif

My company has one.

I drive it also.

It is a normal car for getting from point a to point b.

spare parts are cheap.

fuel consumption is ok.

not much hassle.

But don't expect good handling.

Toyota Vios G spec (Automatic) Oct 2007 model, BLACK, Mileage 31k, TEST DRIVE UNIT

Dealer selling it for RM66000.

Worth it? Please advise.

Thank you so much.

Add RM10k and you can get a new one.

Monthly installments, you'll be paying abt RM100 more.

Why bother with a maybe thrashed up car. You don't know how many or which Tom, d*** and Harry has sat or sweat in the Test Drive Unit.

Even if you test drive and it is ok, you don't know the long term effect of the abuse during the 31k mileage.

Buy new!

anyone can help me??? yeah...just go and see forte...looks awesome!!! maybe can be on list oso  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Isn't Forte over your budget?

With the installment, you are looking for a car about RM68k with 2.9% intetrest.

Proton Persona H-Line (but not jap)

Toyota Vios (RM72k), Forte , Suzuki swift (RM71k) are a bit over the budget.

The car was registered in 2003, and it is tagged at 25k.
Is it a good buy ?

A few of friends told me that this car depreciates in value very fast, which is a cause of concern
as I plan on selling it after a few years driving it.

Kindly advice.

nujikabane, if u want the feel of a conti car, it's a good buy. it already depreciate before u buy it so any further depreciation wont be felt that much. but being a conti u gotta consider the whole package - spare parts & maintenance.

oops.. didn't realise that. but the low price is suspicious. check properly first before u commit. but if u know the owner & that's why he give u special price, then just go ahead..

all bank require latest payslip (3 months) and most of them require loan applicant to be working for at least 6 months.

1. Brand : Proton Iswara / Proton Wira / Daihatsu Espri / Open to suggestion
2. Budget : < RM 12 k
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used
4. Specs : < 1.5l
5. Transmission : Manual
6. NA or FI : either
7. Type : 4 seaters
8. Remarks : mostly concern about the FC and cost of maintenance

Hi all, wanna ask for advice for getting a decent 2nd hand car mainly used to go to work. I need to travel about 50-60km per day (90% highway), and most probably will stick to this car for the upcoming 2-3 years. What I have in mind right now is either choosing an Iswara (around year 99-00), Wira (around 95-97), or Daihatsu Espri (around 94-96). I kinda like the appearance and also the upgrade potential for the espri, but prior to making decision I would like to ask, among these cars:

1) Which of them is more reliable + easy to maintain.

2) Will the espri have better FC since the stock engine is 1.0 and the others are at least 1.3 ?

3) Any other choice? The Mazda Astina falls within the budget as well, but the feedback from the forum is not that good. What about Toyota SE?

When you mention about maintenance, it got me wondering.
Isn't conti cars reliable & of better quality, than say, national cars?
Not wanting to say bad things about national cars, it's just that I have the impression that
conti cars are sold & accepted worldwide, and as such means good quality.

yes. compare to the japanese / imported car, local car comes with a higher interest rate. doesn't matter if it's new or used one.

most bank require a minimum of 3 months pay slip for a loan processing. there are some package offered by certain bank for fresh graduate.
but not so sure about it. maybe you could check at their respective site.

quality is better but reliability.. depends. depends on brand/model. some of the conti cars are not designed for malaysian weather. plastic parts, wiring etc can damage earlier. i'm driving conti too. my roof linen dropped of. then comes to spare parts. in general they are more expensive since they are made in europe. that's why conti cars got clubs to get to know each other & networking to get best price, best repair shop & advice. but inspite of all this, i still love my car. that's the important thing smile.gif. i suggest u get to know peugeot club members & get their opinion. national cars also got their problems, but the service & spare parts are generally much cheaper.

Buy something you can afford, but not something you want.
