hey guys, im asking on behalf on my aunt. she's single and working just 5 minutes from home and seldom drive more than an hour journey apart from shah alam-KLIA, or shah alam- midvalley. so, she stucks with 2 options, i10 n picanto(latest version). i know from 'noob' research on net i10 is based on picanto. but i10 got 4 stars ncap while picanto got 3stars. anything else should i know about? how about users from both cars?

1. Brand : NazaKia, Hyundai
2. Budget : picanto n i10 are both 50k> right?
3. New/Used/Unreg. : NEW
4. Specs. : high end spec for both cars
5. Transmission. : she cant drive manual, so, AUTO
6. NA or FI ? : picanto n i10 got turbo meh? haha. NA of course
*
i'll suggest u go with i10, 4 stars ncap and hyundai is kia big brother~
and like what travis said was right.. naza after sales not good.

Unless u doing a transportation or contractor business i dont see why u should go for a pickup. Perhaps picking sets of rockband/guitar hero will do? tongue.gif

I think the new mitsu 4x4 triton is a good buy, but other alternatives to consider is the isuzu one. 2500 cc roadtax is expensive at 880 while the 3000cc will cost u even more. wink.gif

Better reconsider if u really want a pickup. Otherwise a used proton arena is a worthy choice if u in budget.

2.5 Diesel Turbo... the power isn't smooth & powerful like the 3.2..

Try consider the Isuzu Dmax 3.0 ITEQ, i currently owned one.. it's a 3.0 super commonrail turbodiesel 4x2 version. The power is smooth and more than enough, not to mention less turbo lag compared to lower CC model (2.5ltr).
Giving good FC compared to other brand (Triton, Navara, Hilux, Ranger etc).

But if you're looking for more power, go for Navara, it's a mothertrucker with 176PS and 406nm of torque (which is equal to a BMW M3)..

I wouldn't recommend you to get a Hilux, as it's underpowered & quite high FC like there's no tomorrow biggrin.gif laugh.gif

My suggestion : DMAX > Navara > Triton

My no-no list : Hilux

Powerful with good FC : DMAX

Powerful which will swallow most of the SUV / Truck on highway : Navara

Powerful with comfortness : Triton

Underpower, high FC with nono comfortness : Hilux

Proton Saga BLM is a perfect car for him based on your info.

Base Line model Saga BLM = RM36,500. For 7 year loan, interest is 26.25% so including interest, monthly only pay roughly around RM550. but that if full loan. If you pay downpayment, probably can get Saga Medium line or Saga S.E.

Like what travis_ckf, naza after sales not very good. But that up to you, your choice. But for me, i don't really trust Naza (no reason), i trust Proton 10 times more even though sometimes they're a bit sucks sweat.gif

The Saga is 1.3 yes. 1.6 Saga is rare. If you need 1.6, better choose Persona IAFM 1.6 Base Line model. RM45,500 (full loan around RM565 monthly) if pay downpayment probably can get Medium line biggrin.gif

I think a car less tahn 5 years old will easily fetch from 3.75-4% interest rate, depending how long is ur loan as well.

I dont think there avail stock for naza bestari. It sells at 60-70k in which from ur estimation he cant afford it as well. Like what others says, even with 7-9 year loan with RM500 per month i think he can afford until max the myvi. Best is to settle for the new viva or saga blm.

I recall there such promotion to clear off the stock of the bestari a couple of months back. Guess the promotion is now over. wink.gif

I even know that they discounted the bestari until less than 50k. That something that explains why i dont like naza. They discount like no mercy that will put a very bad effect to the resale value for the current owners. wink.gif

since this is his first car, and yet he cant spend big, 9 years of loan is good...
exact budget on the car? not sure about it after the interest tho, he only state the monthly commitment budget

so a no no to naza bestari, means the choice now on saga blm, and viva right.
any other car to be opt to?

reliability = Ranger, D-Max

torque output & vehicle size = Navara

underpowered and overhyped = Hilux

no production QC = Telcoline

sissy pondan outlook, those that want a 'car-handling' 'car-comfortness' but very gatal wanna try to drive pickup truck = Triton

1. Brand : Japanese
2. Budget : 50-55k
3. New/Used/Unreg : Probably used
4. Specs : Stock
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : NA
7. Type : Sedan

I'm debating between these 3 choices with particular order:
1.used City idsi
2. used Vios
3. new Myvi

The only thing I'm concern of is the CVT gearbox problem for City idsi. Have they fixed this for all 03-04 cars?

Recently my friend's daddy recommended me to buy a second hand 2004 honda city with the price around the same with new MyVi SE (RM 52K)
Was wondering which one worth for the money. In terms of performance, sure the old city will win.
However, it is still a recon car though.
Anyone? Please guide me whether it is a smart consumer to buy new or recon car.
Thanks. tongue.gif tongue.gif
