Was wondering which one worth for the money. In terms of performance, sure the old city will win.
However, it is still a recon car though.
Anyone? Please guide me whether it is a smart consumer to buy new or recon car.
Thanks.
Plan to buy a NEW / USED car?, ASK HERE for recommendation.

Recently my friend's daddy recommended me to buy a second hand 2004 honda city with the price around the same with new MyVi SE (RM 52K)

QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Dec 12 2009, 11:45 AM) I think i have given the same advise from my previous post. But anyway...... sigh. I thought it was a VTEC. But it is idsi. In terms of performance... i should opt for VTEC...1st check the used car condition from body, engine and interior and check the spare tyre compartment to see if there any accident damage. Then check if there a service booklet found and ensure it is serviced every 5k km by Honda. Give it a test drive by checking the ABS/Airbags lights on and off upon putting the key into ignition, check if the engine sound is not noisy, and then most importantly, test drive it and see if u can perform gear change in the gear shift and steering w/o problems. Check the brakes if its working and accelerator as well. Nego to a lower figure if possible, i think it can be fetched below 50k. Hunting a used unit may be time consuming cause u wont want to find a problematic unit. Take time and negotiate properly. If u want a fuss free experience, settle for the new myvi SE. Hope this helps. Any idea if idsi go beyond 140kmph...what will happen to the car though? |

QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Dec 12 2009, 01:14 PM) idsi is more for fuel saving and normal driving so its good enough for normal driving. VTEC dont differ so much although it has extra ponies on the engine. I dont think both engines has any porbs go above 140kmh apart of a slighty noiser engine. Hi bro. Thanks for the CC. Will have a test drive to support my thoughts.U can get a 2004 vtec version for 48-52k. Good luck hunting |

Hey guys. Any guidance to buy a used city? Well I'd been traveled to Malacca to see the car as it is sold by my friend's dad. Test drive the car and so far is OK, not sure a very tiny knocking is normal for a 2004 city. The engine and gearbox wise is OK. 4 new Dunlop tyres. However it seems like the car price is still stick with 52K with many tiny 'scars' at the outlook, which make it seems like bit over used.
Well, I will go to see more this coming weekend and KL car price is much lower. (Scare of those car which has 'rendam' during flood). Was informed 2004 below 51K and 2005 city with around 55K. Any guidance or advise here? My budget will be around 50K +/- 3000. This post has been edited by evios: Dec 18 2009, 11:14 AM |

Finally make up my mind. Honda City year 2005, with new light design at the back (dunnoe what it called).
With 7 gear mode and service report. Vtec. Mileage within 90K KM. Test drive OK. Dealing price 57K. Worth it? |
