Scratch my head recently..pls advice as i still yet to determine

Brand : Honda City / Toyota Vios
2. Budget : 80k +-
3. New
4. Specs : Std Spec
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : (what's it?)
7. Type : 4 seater.

Hope some expert can advice/help...

It's for my gf...173cm height...

Instead of asking which car is better, which spec is value for money?

Any other car can intro?

Best regards and thank you
*
I do not agree with victor87, however comparing both vios and city has both its pros n cons. Overall for normal driving, both city and vios will suit ur gf's needs. Just that the waiting period for city is approx 2-4 months or longer while the vios can get within 1 month.

Best of all, test drive both and see which one she prefers.

Brand : Perodua Myvi/Honda City / Toyota Vios
2. Budget : 50k
3. New/Used/Used
4. Specs : Std Spec
5. Transmission : Auto
6. Type : 4 seater.

which one better? i heard alot of quality problem in myvi. so which one to choose?
*
If u dont mind 2nd hand, vios and city will do great but be vary for additional cost for maintenance for 2nd hand cars. If u want fuss free, go for the brand new myvi. If got problem at least u still have ur manufacturer warranty to cover.

Hmmm u can go for the used myvi as it easier to find used ones with bodykit around that range. Also myvi looks great with bodykit.

15K, hmmm u can get tons of options like a used iswara from 2000 and above. Or a wira from 94 onwards, but dont expect loan available. wink.gif

Hi there,
I'm looking for Isuzu Trooper/Bighorn TD 1998 or 2000/2001 (but I'm no sure about this year cause I heard some problem with engine) in Kota Kinabalu, do you know how can I find this car here? bcause I've looked already all around car dealers, news paper, internet etc... but nothing... any suggestion? Thanks
*
Why specificity an Isuzu? Toyotas are popular in East Malaysia, why not find a toyota landcruiser instead?

hi people.... im looking for a family car....
in my mind now is either Hyundai Matrix @ Honda Jazz (old 1).....
could share some info or suggestion?
it just for me & my parent as my 2 sister got their own car already.....
FYI, my family concept is use the car until it forever... not like those changing car after 2-3 years.. hehehe....
*
Hmmm i would prefer the honda jazz cause the car can last for long. But since u not planning to change for many years to come, the Hyundai Matrix will be a better bargain.

1. Brand: Gen2 CPS
2. Budget: 50k
3. Used
4. Specs: cps with sport rim
5. Transmission. manual
6. NA or FI ? NA kot?
7. Type.
8. Remarks.

im thinking bout buying used gen2 cps year 2008. price is rm50K and mileage is around 5000 to 10000km.. new gen2 would be 57K if im not mistaken.
is it 'profitable' for me to buy that car? this is my first car and i have work for 5 months. my salary is around rm2.4K.. i want to know:
-what is total cost of that car if i want to make 9 years loan?
-lowest price i can nego
-loan range. (bank can cover 90% or more?)
-interest for second hand proton car..

thanks for advice!  sweat.gif
*
50K for a 1 year car? Nego it to 48k. I personally dont recommend taking 9 years, and best is ur car loan must not be more than 1/4 of ur salary, although the bank requirements is max 1/3 of ur monthly salary. Hence i prefer u to take 600 per month commitment. Used local car, hmm, be prepare for interest rate around 4%.

I hope u find the loan calculator useful here. http://autoworld.com.my/v2/tools/loan_payment.asp

this one is probably one of the most argued in its category, I am actually deciding between Accord 2.4/ Camry 2.4/ Mazda 6

I am slightly more bias towards mazda6 due to its looks, am 24 this yr, and camry looks abit too old man car for me, but just before i make my purchase, is there anything in particular bout Mazda 6 i should know?

thanks anyway =)
*
If u can afford the mazda 6, go for it. Its suits for the young at heart and seriiously a better car than the eversafe camry and accord.

Just dont expect good resale value compared that 2 models, but if i were u, i gonna keep it for long mate.

Anyone please give some suggestion,

1. Brand >>> Prefer Honda/Toyota but P1/P2 also ok

2. Budget >>> Salary about 2.75k but company will paid my interest up to 4% with 40k max loan (calculate my load + interest)
so i want fully utilize this, loan about 40k + interst 4%, DP can about 10k

3. New/Used/Unreg. >>> New / Used also can

4. Specs. >>> accutally prefer City / Persona

5. Transmission. >>> Any

6. NA or FI ? >>Dont know, NA  smile.gif

7. Type. >> As spec City so i think is sedan

8. Remarks. >> Accutally if car condition is ok, Used i also ok d smile.gif
*
Hmmm i think u better test drive all these cars and made ur judgement. But with such loan i think getting the persona is a better and feasible idea.

guys i need some advise.

i'm interested to buy honda ek 96. but the new NAP, after 2015 goverment will stop the half-cut business right. is it worth it to buy the ek bcoz maybe the spare part will hard to find.
*
Actually by 2011 u wont get halfcut parts from overseas anymore. However if u not into modding aftermarket parts, getting the EK will be fine since the car is locally assembled and for sure u can get parts for such cars.

Hmm that would be tricky, but unless if u jott down the car num, u can check with JPJ when the car is registered and manufactured.

Oh yes u can get a 2004 city idsi for less than 50k. Its a good choice if u looking for a fuel saving car but pls do a test drive to see if the CVT gearbox is okay.

6. NA or FI ? (NA = Natural Aspirated, FI = Forced-induction aka Turbocharged/Supercharged)
No idea.

7. Type. (Sedan, 2 Seater, Convertible, and etc)
something like 4x4

8. Remarks. (add anything u like)
is Old vitara (2 doors) is good? easy to maintain? fuel consumption?

Price:  RM 55 800    Reg. year: 2005
Mileage: 55 000 - 59 999  Make: Honda
Model: City  Transmission: Auto
Engine Capacity: 1497 cc

That kinda high, I think u can get lesser than that.

Go to the used car lot and inspect properly, check for damage, interior, service booklet and engine condition.

I like the 1 gen of Jazz.... So, it will be 2nd hand. What more should i know about the 2nd hand car like Jazz? Transmision? How about the price & year?
*
Its uses the same CVT transmission with the city so be vary about it. Check out the service maintainence records. Price wise best to consult motortrader.com.my

Also bear in mind of the 1.4cc units from Japan named Fit which was bought by grey importers. The ones we got from Honda Malaysia are the ones with 1.5cc engines.

Hmm u really want a good taste for cars. Price is cheap for used units as well. This is because the maintainence bills will be very pricey. Consult some local alfa romeo owners forums before seriously considering buying it as it will be an hassle when maintaining it.

2) Which 1 more batter for me :- VTEC @ iDSi ??

I found a 2007 model which around 75k mostly VTEC.... I also found a cheaper 1 which is a idsi 1.5 year 2004...
*
Depends on ur budget, idsi has its pros which is the best fuel economy while vtec is for slight performance boost. If u looking for a fuss free car for daily drive, idsi will be good enough.

Thanks. The Alfa is my brother's. He offered me the car, only pay monthly for RM420, only left 2 years. He has done many things to the car, only left painting job. Still undecided whether to take the Alfa or the new Saga BLM i already booked.  rclxub.gif If i wanna take the Alfa, i gotta know what things he has done to the car like the timing belt etc. The car is very nice to drive according to him. Me as a passenger at front seat felt the suspension is very good for a 12 year old car. And it is just nice to hear the engine roars.
btw victor87, what is JDM stands for? Japanese made?
*
If i were u i take the alfa hands down. Its rare compared to the saga BLM and since it is ur own brother who is the owner then u should not worry much.

Just be knowledgeable to source parts and be prepare to pay abit higher during servicing. Anyhow, check out any alfa romeo forums in mysia to understand more on how to maintain/source parts for ur car.

QUOTE(ravemaster222003 @ Nov 13 2009, 01:53 AM)
JDM = Japan Domestic Market (model that been produce to be sale in japan)

So, should i go for Jazz/Fit that from grey importers (is it legal?) or the local 1?
Got any different ka?
*
It is legal to go for grey importers, but if problem arises u can;t go to Honda Malaysia directly. Since imported half cut parts are byebye by 2011, i rather go for the ones from local distributor. Take the 1.5cc ones from Honda Malaysia to be safe. wink.gif

ok then.... about the CVT trans, how to check it? under what condition to avoid from buy it?
*
This is hard. U need to bring a mechanic if can. My only advice is check the car service history. If the car is serviced every 5k km then it should be fine. If there no service book inside the car, avoid at all cost. Also test drive if possible and see if the transmission is working fine and can change gears smoothly.

i have a doubt bout proton and perodua...
which is better in term of
- price
- maintenance/servicing
- fuel

what is the procedure to buy a car, as i hv no idea on ths...1st time want to buy...

Hmm for 50k the myvi is actually a worthy buy. I bet u should have no problems on maintenance/servicing and fuel economy is pretty decent.

On procedure on buying a car, visit the showroom and the SA will be happily advising u on that. Just make sure u have at max 1/4 of ur salary for the car loan. I always suggest take max 7 years loan at best.

Hi.. I am new to this.. Really need advice from all the experts..
I am currently driving a 2nd-hand Kancil..I wish to change a new car asap..
As i do not have much information/knowledge/experience on cars.. It's very hard for me to make any decision on which car i should get..

At first, i've made my decision and already gave booking fee for Naza Bestari 206..and my loan have already approved >.< The problem is.. the SA never give me any receipt or B&W prove..And everytime i called my SA to ask for the car he will be very angry with me..He said to me if i can get the car ask me to find from other dealer then let him know and so on (i dunno..i just feel that he is like scolding me everytime i try to ask him for car  sad.gif ) ..

I have tried to contact other Naza showrooms to ask for the 206, there also telling me there is no more stock for 206..Therefore,i think i should give up on 206 and look for other car instead.. since alot of people i know keep telling me not to take 206 due to a lot of cons such as a face off model, high maintenance, hard to find spare part, gearbox problem, no resell value and etc (i'm so confused with all this  unsure.gif but i really like 206 since i'm in college )

But none of the people i know know anything about buying a car.. as i m a small-size-lady.. i wish to go for small size car.. small car will be easier for me to find parking also..and i only drive for short distance..

Today, i went to test drive Naza Picanto, Hyundai i10 & Hyundai Getz.. All these 3 have its own pro & con..

Naza Picanto:
- The interior is nice and acceptable
- The exterior, so so but aceptable
- Quite comfortable, but the dash board is too high/the seat is too low as the driver seat cannot be shift up/down like myvi
- Came with airbags (abs? i not sure have or not)
- Not really satisfy with the whole folding-rear seat (i prefer the seat that can open either 1-side or 2-side to keep or take thing from the boot from inside the car - for safety reason)
- One relative told me that picanto is very high FC and underpower..is it true?
- Price offered for 1.1EX(A) is $46,800 (My SA said no disc as it is a new launch model). Asked me to book ASAP as it's going to increase by RM700 starting 2010

Hyundai i10:
- The exterior is cute & nice, just don't like the rear
- The interior is nice but less thing compare to picanto. (What is tachometer? is it very important to have for a car? I try to ask the SA but she seems like abit blur blur  sweat.gif )
- During test drive, i feel that the seat was very uncomfortable and less power than my 850cc Kancil
- No airbags or abs (i wish they have as i'm really particular on the safety)
- Heard that i10 is the upgrade version of Atos and have alot of problems..
- Price offered for Auto is $44,588 (w/o airbags), $47088 (with airbags but no stock & don't when will get stock)

Hyundai Getz:
- The exterior is nice and acceptable
- I don't really like the interior as it looks like those old old car's
- Very comfortable and powerful
- Have 1 airbag at driver side
- Price offered for Getz 1.4 is $52,000 (Was told that this car is manufactured in 2008. Therefore they give disc up to $10k +/-)
- Quite over my budget already sad.gif

I really do not know which one to choose, as alot of people i know keep on telling me that these 3 cars have alot of cons  rclxub.gif  Please don't ask me to get Myvi or Viva or Proton. I will never consider either of those.

As i'm not from KL, i do not know much car dealer/showroom in KL. So i only went to 2 Naza showrooms & 1 Hyundai showroom nearby the place i stay. If any of you know any good SA, please do recommend to me. Hope i can get better offer price and service.

Getting a new car supposed to be happy, but i'm feeling so stressed & depressed. no matter which car i chose, everyone is telling me this is no good. this is bad and so for....  doh.gif

Please help!! icon_question.gif

MANY THANKS!!!
*
Naza kinda has a bad reputation on this, so avoid the 206 n picanto if possible.

The getz will be replaced by the i20 from hyundai, unless if u get clearing stock which will be cheaper, then the inokom getz is a good value to buy.

If i were u, i would choose the getz. Just dont regret once the replacement i20 is out, but i think it will be out sometime in 2010.

i need your help here~

1. Brand : Honda city/Toyota Vios/Suzuki Swift

3. New/Used/Unreg : used
4. Specs : Basic will be enought for me
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : No idea
7. Type : 4 doors, small, safe, easy to maintain, fuel consumption

on a regular basis put 20-30k downpayment,i am looking for getting
2nd hand Honda City or Toyota Vios or Suzuki Swift

recently found that year 2003 Honda city selling Rm46k
2005 vios/city and above will be Rm50k++

A 4-6 year car from now,are worth to getting?
instead getting a new proton?geeee...

advise from others, say that getting honda city are good bcos it has 5 gear and toyota vios only have  4 gear

brother me for the first time purchase car, your greatly advise will be appeciated

Currently Dirving Wira Sedan year 2000
My salary pay are Rm 3k
*
Well, with ur salary then the used city/vios should be fine. Both these cars are reliable and robust even though they aged 5 years and above. For the city from 2002-2007, they using 7 speed CVT gearbox which will be hassle if got problem, so be careful when choosing a used city, suggest u to test drive it.

To be safe, the 2003-2005 vios is a good option, u can get around 40-50k for that. Go for the G spec for additional safety features. Hope this helps smile.gif

Hello guys!

I'm interested in a year 2007 Honda Jazz (i-dsi), and its modified with 16inch rims, GAB suspensions, mugen body kit, with leather seats, and mileage is 60-70k and the tagged price is rm60k.. the owner is a very nice lady..

so, i would like to ask for you guys opinion, is it worth it to buy the car as I'm also thinking of NEO CPS. Thanks guys!
*
That good, but be sure u gave it a test drive before u confirm ur purchase. Check the ride (coz i bet its hard as it uses aftermarket GAB suspension) and the gearbox to see if everything working fine.

But if u looking for a driver's car, the neo CPS is the obvious choice unless if u dont mind the long waiting period.

Thanks..Guess i will go for the Getz  nod.gif
The getz that the SA offered to me is manufactured in 2008..
is this consider as clearing stock? RM52k is it cheap?
sud i wait til 2010 then buy? as now already Nov..  rclxub.gif

Hmm 2008 stock when now is end of 2009, not a good sign.

Well if u want small cars why dont u consider myvi or viva? If u dont want perodua, the hyundai i10 is a good option here. Its new and good enough for city driving.

Hi travis,

Thanks for replying..

erm..for now i m considering between i10 & getz ..
overall i10 is much cheaper..but there are alot of aspects that im still considering wich is the most value to buy for long term usage unsure.gif

one more thing, is it advisable to buy any new car at this kinda time (year end)? or sud i jz wait til 2010?  sweat.gif
*
Hmm if u dont mind keeping more than 5-7 years, u wont lose much on resale value although both these cars has poorer resale value compared to perodua or japanese made.

Good thing to buy car now is u will get splendid discounts for end of yr stock. Wont be a concern if u keeping ur car for long. Inokom is actually a decent brand in mysia brand.

Hi, I'm 22 years old and looking for my first car with budget around 30k-60k auto, planning to use it for maybe 5-10years(of course if suddenly kena toto then it's different story tongue.gif ), the following is the brand & car in my mind.

1)Perodua Myvi Ezi. RM47k
2)Toyota Vios E(2004) Top mark selling RM56k (I think can get around 52k)
3)Honda City (Second hand) around RM50k
4)Saga blm M-line - RM41k
5)Viva Elite 1l, - RM38k
I test drive the myvi, vios, saga and viva(never have opportunity to test drive honda city)
Myvi
I feel the performance is quite ok, but it's too common on road sad.gif

Vios
I feel that the performance is around the same with myvi, just that the engine is more silent, a little bit more spacious. Comfortable wise, it's roughly the same with myvi.

Saga blm
The performance is not really good, the car tend to pickup slower than my expectation, I can't imagine what if it's 10 years old later. Not really like the design and the car engine.

Viva
Actually I think that viva is not bad, but I'm doubt that because of its size and it's not "very suitable" for highway drive, because many people tell me that if a lorry passby you, your viva will feel like "floating".

My question:
1)Will Vios maintenance more than myvi by a lot? Since it's not national car(thus the replacement part will be more expensive) and it's older car.
2)How is 5 years old vios fuel consumption compare to New Myvi?
3)Please recommend me if I missed out any decent car that is within my budget.
4)Is it ok to buy car at end of year or wait until next year january? Since I'll not utilize the car until my next year school started.

My preference:
1)Fuel consumption is a main factor since I foreseen I'll travel quite a lot on highway.
2)Hatchback or sedan is not really my concern since I'm single.
3)Maintenance fees is also one of the main factor.(maybe RM500 per year, I'm not sure since this will be my first car)
*
FC as main concern, I can think either the vios or city. If u looking for a lower maintainence car, safest best is the vios. The vios has better FC and power than the myvi and its reliable as well.

I can't find decent Honda City and I heard Honda City have high maintenance fees for its gearbox.
Thanks for your input biggrin.gif
May I know roughly how much the different between Myvi and Vios for insurance and roadtax per year?
*
Not much, the myvi is cheaper in maintenance like 200-300 hundred compared to vios. But since u traveling highway alot, i suggest u get the 2003-2004 spec for 50k++. The E spec using skimy tyres which is abit unsafe on highways unless if u plan to upgrade the tyres.

1. Brand : honda city
2. Budget : 60k
3. New/Used/Unreg : used
4. Specs : Full Spec
5. Transmission : CVT
6. NA or FI :  NA
7. Type : 4 seater.
8. Remarks : my concern is the CVT gearbox...have honda resolve the issue aleady

U just pick the honda city so I have nothing much to comment here. Just get the 04-06 ones and choose either u want economy (idsi) or performance (vtec). Just test drive and check if the gearbox and engine are alright.

Guys, besides the cars I mentioned above, my brother who working in Toyota get an offer for 2 years Toyota Prius(Demo Hybrid Car) at RM94k, the car will register under my name as first owner, should I take it as financial is not a big problem for me.
*
Is that the new Prius 1.8cc one? If its the 1.5cc one (previous gen), avoid as it was never released in mysia before.

All on my own pocket - The latest Proton Saga 1.3 AT ML Solid Colour

If got parents help [Example: like they pay downpayment and I pay 8 years of monthly repayments] - The latest Honda City Grade S
*
U asking whether to go for saga or new city? Well it all boils down to ur budget. But if possible, try to come out with ur own money and dont rely on parents much on something which will depreciate. Go for the saga then.

which is better vios E spec or honda city s spec

1.which is better fuel consumption

2. which is low cost of maintenance

3. which is higher resale....
*
On those aspects, looks like the vios E has a better advantage over the new city S spec. I bet both has good resale value as well.

By the pricing of S spec city, i suggest to get the G spec vios instead.

Need advice on choosin between Myvi 1.3 or Satria Neo 1.3.

What is the secondhand price range for these two cars- lets say if its 2-3 years old?

Which is the bang for the buck?

Which is more reliable?

Cost of repair which is cheaper?

gonna get it as my first car so need check properly..  notworthy.gif
*
Myvi 1.3 should get around 30k++ for 2nd hand units, neo should be around there or less. Bang for buck, if u like fun performance driving pick the satria neo.

Reliablity myvi fares better than satria neo but cost wise, well, subjective sweat.gif

Better test both these cars and see which one u like. Also pls ask urself if u need 4 doors or 2 doors.

1. Brand : Gen2/City/Vios or Civic
2. Budget : 80+
3. New/Used/Unreg : Doesn't matters.
4. Specs : ABS+Airbag
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI :  Normal
7. Type : 4 seater.
8. Remarks : Mostly City Driving, quarterly Balik Kampung Long journey.
I am 175cm Tall guy driving Kelisa currently.

A sedan will be ur choice, although the gen2 has good boot space for a hatchback.

Ur requirement gap is quite wide so i cant determine whether u should go for city/vios or used civic as choosing them will suits u anyway. Test drive all these cars and see which one suits u the best.

I would prefer the used 2005 1/8 FD civic which u can get for 80-90k for now.
