I would go for the exora here. It is very spacious for a family of 5-7 and it is indeed good value. However concern here is the underpowered engine so dont expect fuel economy here.

If if u can up ur budget to 80k++, the nissan grand livina is a better option.

3 years warranty or 100,000km (Which ever comes first). Of course the IDSI still worth in term of FC. I-DSI City is powered by a 1.5litre engine. 50% Petrol subsidy is more than enough  wink.gif
Naza Citra is a high FC car and kinda problematic car, not to say it's underpowered too. 2.0 liter engine producing 136 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 174.6Nm & 4,500 rpm.

By the way, the most of the Naza Citra has radiator leaking problem and there's quite alot of owner claims it's a high FC car. RM80 can only get you 420km+-. But there's someone who claim can get more than that.

Personally i would go for the Proton Exora, it's powered by a 1.6 liter Campro CPS that produces 125 horsepower and 150Nm of torque. Not to mention Exora looks better than the Citra too.

Try to check out Naza Citra feedback @ http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/naza/citr...02195/comments/

Or as travis said, try to increase your budget to 80k+- and get a nissan grand livina..

Hey Travis & Victor87,

Thanks alot for the advice!! smile.gif
Most probably will go for Exora. As 80k is too outta our budget XD

I would choose the accord 2002 if i were u here. Basically nothing wrong among the 2 choices but N16 has kinda have a high FC. But since u dont mind having a FC of a 2.0 then its a minor issue here.

Accord is big and spacious and if size n space is ur priority then go for it.

Japanese brands like toyota n honda will have better resale value. But if ur concern is driving ur car for the next 5-7 years then resale value wont be a priority here.

For best value car, i will pick the forte. It is very well equipped C segment car (altis civic class) for a price of a vios. What else u can ask? But do pls test drive and see if u like it.

I would want to pick the alphard but within ur budget mostly u can get those used units rather than the unregistered ones. The unregistered ones will easily cost 150-200k++ more. Furthermore UMW will not entertain u as they did not bring the alphard and u may need to service outside which is a hassle.

If u want less hessle in aftermarket services, the hyundai starlet is a better choice as it comes from the official hyundai distributor.

Hmmm i would like to go for punto if i really know how to maintain italian cars and i want to be different, not forgeting i can afford to spend more for maintainence. I would like to keep the punto for many years even when the years comes by i can afford to buy better cars, not forgeting i willing to spend more for parts even though i wont be getting used parts from chop shops. On that note i stay punto for life!

On the other hand, i dont have much money for cars and i just want a set of reliable wheels to go anyway. I dont want to spend much money for maintenance so i want it to be cheap and reliable. I also want to get a better car once my earning power increases. So i go for the kenari and hopefully i would get a golf/camry once i earn more!

Guess this should answer ur ques. Good luck!

Punto high maintenance mean you will spend a lot of money fixing car so that mean you cannot save up for better thing laugh.gif

The hyundai atos parts should be okay but parts might be more expensive than the usual kelisa and kenari. I not putting much hopes on the fuel consumption (FC) as the atos belongs to the older gen of korean cars which has high FC.

15k is dirt cheap but why not settle for a used kelisa or kenari? For 20k or less but u will have a peaceful mind as spare parts are cheap and plenty and it has very good FC.

Depends on your document, from 2.XX% to 6.XX%...
Btw, if you're carrying full loads of people with Alphard, try consider the 3.5ltr V6 model.. Else, it will be seriously underpowered with the 2.4ltr model.

Personally, i think the Starex is a very good deal. With turbodiesel engine, you'll never complain of underpowered with that much of torque. (170+ps, with 396Nm of torque)
It's more than enough. Diesel engine has less maintenance compare to petrol engine, better FC compared to petrol (due to massive of torque available @ 1.5k rpm, with the help of turbocharger)

I, myself owned a 3 turbodiesel in my house.. More power with lower FC, lower maintenance compared to Petrol engine.

As they bring in Starex officially, the spare parts wouldn't be a hassle.
Sorry, it was my mistake.. The older generation of Alphard doesn't have 3.5, it does comes with the 3.0liter only..

Resale value of Hyundai car isn't that bad. But has huge difference if compared to Alphard. The Toyotas and Hondas always have better resale value in Malaysia. Due to it's popularity.

Hi there, i am planning to get a new car for myself, typically a SEDAN. Currently I am driving a Myvi (2 years +) and I am looking into buying a family size SEDAN car that can last me for like the next 5 years. I would be selling of my 10 years old CRV japan spec for this.

I am confuse between a brand new 1.5E Honda City or a 1+/2 year USED Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT as both also comes in a relatively same price. I am also considering USED CIVIC, but the 2.0 spec is way out of my budget for 08/09.

Hope i can get some advise here.

Thanks a lot in advanced.

Underpowered means the car doesn't have sufficient power to satisfy your needs. Like u're travelling alone with the Alphard 2.4, the power is just more than enough. But when u're travelling with 7 people in Alphard, the 2.4 just feel like don't want to move fast.. Get it?? laugh.gif

You buy Starex, it's a new car. While Alphard u have to buy it as a used unit.
Some latest generation of Korean car serve very good FC, unlike the oldest generation of Korean car which is high maintenance and high FC.
You can get a BRAND NEW Starex with warranty, for only RM130k. You get an Alphard for 150k+, i assume it's an older model, which doesn't come with warranty (some dealer does provide warranty).
Why get a previous generation of Alphard when there's Vellfire and 2008 Alphard is around Malaysia?? Tell this to your uncle.. Poison him ! laugh.gif

Not going to put Naza / Kia Forte as your option?? It's a very good car that receive alot feedback from Singapore user, but not sure with the Malaysia side tho..
I will pick the Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT, as long as it's in good condition and without any internal damages.. I would buy a Naza Forte over than a Honda City, why? Because i pay for something who have same class with Civic / Altis. (C-Segment cars)

Btw, are you going to bring alot of people or family with the car??
