well, the advantage of this vostro is its matte screen, and longer battery life I supposed.
other than that, asus k40ab is better in term of gaming....

There's one thing that I am always confused about .. why are some laptop like alienware (the very basic package) so expensive while the specs are just so so . . while some other brand like acer could be so good in spec with reasonable price . . are there any difference in term of quality ? any advice for me ?

You're comparing something like Premium and mainstream..

So Premium will always be expensive.. smile.gif

The BRAND Alienware itself already expensive, just like Sony VAIO and also Macbook...differentiate them with BRANDS...well, better stick with PRICE:PERFORMANCE for better worth of spending money icon_idea.gif...though if got the money, Alienware for a gaming rig would be thumbup.gif

You can consider the Lenovo SL400 or 410. Below RM2k w/o OS.

Hey there,

I want to ask , is it worth buying acer 4740g or is it better to pay extra RM500 to get Acer 5740g?

If you ask me, its really your own choice...both have the same spec-wise..its just a matter of choosing a 14" or 15"...

If you don't mind either form factor, the 5740G is much more bang for buck, IMO anyway.
