yes, sxps 16 is best option for 5k budget,
unless you are willing to import such as sager notebooks or asus g-series with gtx260m above,
e.g. asus g51jx, rm 5.2k, with gts 360m
http://www.mucro.asia/index.php/Asus-Noteb...us-G51J-A1.html
or g51vx from ebay, should come less than 5k with gtx260m

as for i7-720Qm vs i7-620M, I can say they are different league, since one is dual core while the other one is quad core,
if mainly for gaming, get the dual core
the quad core is more appropriate for rendering, video encoding, etc....

Thanks bro smile.gif
Since I'm not into gaming... probably wait till i7-620M available on SXPS16...

If u have a 5.8k budget, do highly consider Asus G73JH with i7-720QM,17.3" FHD and HD5870 drool.gif

As of now,HD5870 is the most powerful single GPU brows.gif

pretty much all netbook has the same spec, just choose which design you like, battery life and budget...
if want better than netbook, consider acer 1410T/1810TZ

Well, when buying from shop, just remember to check out the spec and ask them about the warranty...should be provided by the company itself such as Dell,HP,BenQ etc etc...so no worries there...and never take display unit, take the sealed package one, should there be any problem can always send it in for warranty nod.gif

Hi everyone.

I want to find a good laptop for my parents to use at home but I'm not quite up to the current market models so can anyone find a good fit for these specs?

Budget : <RM3000

Purpose : Video chat, browsing and AutoCAD. Any good quality built-in camera out there?

Size : 14" (preferrably non-widescreen), lightweight and slim but good built quality

Brand : No Acer, No Compaq. I insist on Dell, Asus, HP, Toshiba

Colour : Must be white LOL! (Mummy insists on it!)

asus u80v, asus ux-series
hp dv-series, but need to buy backlit keyboard part from ebay and install it yourself, hence would void the warranty.
upcoming vaio z, vaio s

non-widescreen is almost non-existent unless old notebook.
the white is full white notebook? or just white in lid colour?
full white notebook is kinda hard to find as now trend is around black and grey.

well, if looking at alienware m15x, consider as well sager notebooks, they give reasonable price for its spec.
consider Sager NP8690, one of the best gaming 15'' notebook smile.gif

change currency at left to ringgit.

well, the thing is m15x itself also gaming notebook laugh.gif
and you get more performance from sager NP8690 with cheaper price tag than basic m15x smile.gif
although m15x should do fine,
the i7 version of studio xps 16 would be better choice than the basic m15x, cheaper and better spec, you can use the remaining budget to up the warranty to 3 years smile.gif

if you do choose m15x, do note that its weight 4kg.
