Hi all, need some notebook/netbook recommendations:

Purpose: mostly for web surfing and multimedia purposes (watch video, music listening)

1. [as sub PC] price below 2k, what is model with best spec note/net-book? Is Vaio P23G good?

2. [as main PC] price around 4-5k, what is the best notebook for this price? is there any better spec notebook than xps16 (with i7 processor) around the same price?

Thanks.

Hi all, between HP DV2 & Asus K40AB, which has better spec? As I think both have about the same spec... correct me if I'm wrong...

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick feedback notworthy.gif
Let me check up reviews for all models listed above and see if any suit my needs.

Anyway for SXPS16 and K40AB, I don't think they belong to slim and light category? Correct me if I'm wrong. SXPS16 at 2.3kg++ while K40KB is around 2kg if my memory serve me right.

Sorry I did not state earlier that I'm looking for slim and light laptop below 2kg weight. Oh ya, prefer with Win7 preinstalled or Win7 upgrade options.

I kinda like Asus UL30A and Acer Timeline but their graphic capabilities are not that good...

Thanks again smile.gif

well, studio xps 16 still can play latest games, its just that you need to lower the resolution, perhaps to 1366x768 or 1280x720
since running latest games at 1920x1080 really taxing on the graphic card
pretty much this is the best gpu you can get under 5k in malaysian market,
unless you willing to import from outside......

Do you mean for 5k budget, SXPS16 is the best option available? How about other models from Dell or other brands?

Anyway for SXPS16 i7 model, how's i7-720QM compared to upcoming i7-620M (http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/notebooks/0,39050495,62060649,00.htm)?

I think sooner or later more new models will come with i7-620M instead of i7-720QM.

yes, sxps 16 is best option for 5k budget,
unless you are willing to import such as sager notebooks or asus g-series with gtx260m above,
e.g. asus g51jx, rm 5.2k, with gts 360m
http://www.mucro.asia/index.php/Asus-Noteb...us-G51J-A1.html
or g51vx from ebay, should come less than 5k with gtx260m

as for i7-720Qm vs i7-620M, I can say they are different league, since one is dual core while the other one is quad core,
if mainly for gaming, get the dual core
the quad core is more appropriate for rendering, video encoding, etc....

Thanks bro smile.gif
Since I'm not into gaming... probably wait till i7-620M available on SXPS16...
