I think the front page needs some adjustments like the "tips".Its already very outdated

Maybe the format for asking should something like this:

1)Budget
2)Usage of laptop
3)Size/Weight
4)Brand

Add one more thing here, 14" would seem charper than 15.6" due to the pixel density.

But, my advice is take the 15.6" if you're going for gaming and movies smile.gif 14" is too small to see anything laugh.gif

But being "N"60dp and also 16",its not gonna be cheap. We all know that 16" laptops aren't cheap right?

If its K series, then maybe la laugh.gif But if its around 3-3.5k, its under my radar brows.gif

IMHO, hardcore gaming on a 13-14" is a bit limited.Try to get 15" and above for more viewing pleasure laugh.gif

Benq S42 gets my vote

thx lee what, john jay n those who contribute for giving me suggestion...
after kena racun by u guys
i might go for S42...but when googling benq website...
saw s57...seems similar spec but with blu ray...
any comment?
*
Yes the S57 is sure tempting for its BD drive. However how many of us buy original BDs?And S57's native reso is an inferior 720p,so its like a little wasted here....unless u plan to hook it up to your FHD tv drool.gif

But for a 4k range, u have pretty much other choices worth considering namely Dell SXPS 16 at 4.2k,Asus N51vn at 4.4k,Acer 5935.

BenQ S42    Vs. Asus U80V
(better spec) Vs.(better wrty)
*
Actually depends on your usage. If you ain't a that eye candy(games),then u can opt for the Asus as 2 years of warranty is a good deal smile.gif

IMHO,Asus' design is better laugh.gif

currently undecided to buy asus k50ab or acer timeline 4810tz.. both around 2k; but i know both is for different usage..
i kinda made up my mind for asus but the thought of being able to use a laptop (using just batteries) for straight 8HOURS!!! phew~ blew my mind... any input folks?
*
Urm..not even planning to use direct power source?Unless of course you're always on the move

Asus K50ab should be a better choice if you're more towards games smile.gif

well, can say benq s57 might perform better if everything run on default, since benq s57 runs on 1366x768 while sxps 16 runs at 1920x1080.
alternatives with similar spec is... sager np2098, doubt you can find it, next is lenovo y550, p8700 and nvidia gt240m for around rm 3.9k.

else, for less performance, vaio CW16 with p8700, gt230m; lenovo y450 with p8700, gt130m; benq s42 with p8700, nvidia 9600m gt.
*
Kinda pointless comparing performance when the resolution is different.SXPS 16 has an advantage by having the versatility to change its resolution
