Yes the S57 is sure tempting for its BD drive. However how many of us buy original BDs?And S57's native reso is an inferior 720p,so its like a little wasted here....unless u plan to hook it up to your FHD tv drool.gif

But for a 4k range, u have pretty much other choices worth considering namely Dell SXPS 16 at 4.2k,Asus N51vn at 4.4k,Acer 5935.

Actually depends on your usage. If you ain't a that eye candy(games),then u can opt for the Asus as 2 years of warranty is a good deal smile.gif

IMHO,Asus' design is better laugh.gif

most ppl who own S57 in the BenQ thread is becuz of the HD4650, not the BD drive...

that was before Dell upgrade the GPU of SXPS16 to HD4670... at that time S57 has the best spec for a 15"/16" in the market...

but now with the likes of updated SXPS16 and Asus N51Vn, S57 is back to wat BenQ is good at - price:performance ratio...

that time i told the S57 would-be owners, 2 yrs down the road, when the laptop can't satisfy u in games, convert it into a media center for ur home... think that way and u probably get a BD player at a pretty good price... nod.gif

Hi all, need some notebook/netbook recommendations:

Purpose: mostly for web surfing and multimedia purposes (watch video, music listening)

1. [as sub PC] price below 2k, what is model with best spec note/net-book? Is Vaio P23G good?

2. [as main PC] price around 4-5k, what is the best notebook for this price? is there any better spec notebook than xps16 (with i7 processor) around the same price?

Thanks.

Hey guys. smile.gif
Thinking of buying a lappy for study purpose.
Budget is tight, RM1.5k and below. So might be mini lappy.
I have Dell Inspiron 10v in my mind now, but don't know it can handle Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and maybe other 2 or 3 more that kind of softwares wisely or not?
If you guys have other opinions, please help me to choose yea. smile.gif
Thanks people.
