about the steering rack, my SAGA SE also facing the same leakage problem, booked the part at SC, waited for almost a month, has yet to confirmed on when im gettin to replace. yawn.gif

the alarm beeping is not that you pressed wrongly, it is a syndrome of the alarm system in every SAGA or SAGA SE. you will notice this will happen when you closed your door or boot too light, but its not like the door or boot is not properly closed, when that happens and you pressed the alarm, it'll go beeping, you just have to go re-close your door or boot harder and press close alarm again. it'll stop beeping then. wink.gif

Uhh, does the leakage leave a stain on the ground? What color is it? A bit concerned about my Saga SE since so many people complain about this problem.

it doesn't leave a lot or puddles of stain on ground because it'll just leak and go round the rack watery... but if your car is immobilize for a day, you will notice there will be a few tiny drops. wink.gif
don't worry, if you have driven your saga for a long period and there's no leakage symptom then it won't happen. i found out my leakage problem after 2 months of collection, so its like this thing will happen earlier than you thought it'll be wear and tear.

Can we feel it harder to move the steering wheel? I mean since the power steering fluid is less than it should be harder to turn the steering wheel right?

Here is a story for you guys: (true story btw)

I ordered my car (B-line AT black) for my wife  on the 28th December 2009 and the SA told me the car would be ready for collection on the end of January 2010. I thought the car would be ready by end January as stated by the SA so i didn't bother to chase after it.

My wife reminded me about the car and asked me to call the SA to make sure the car will be ready for collection. So i called the SA and guess what she (the SA) told me. She said the car is out of stock at their showroom at the moment . I gave a piece of mind to the SA and asked her to give me and exact date when the car will be ready. She told me its not her fault and its the factory's fault for not producing enough cars and various other bullshit and the car will be ready before CNY.

Today i called her up again and she told me that the car would most probably not be ready before CNY and will have to wait till after CNY (no specific date provided). I fired her off and told her "dont give me this crap. at first you told me the car will arrive at the end of January, then you gave me some lousy excuses and said the car will arrive before CNY latest and now you still dare give me this bullshyt?!" Plus my wife is using a rented car which cost rm70/day while waiting for the saga.

So i demanded an exact date to when the car will be ready. The SA said "im not sure la mister. this one is i cannot guarantee wan. i must check with the factory and see first. i TRY TRY la get for you before CNY. I call you back later now i got customer"

Currently im waiting for her to call me back. After this incident, i don't think i will ever purchase a proton car ever again seeing that their service is lousy and they cant even keep to their datelines.

Has anyone suffered this problem as well? and any advice to make sure my car is ready before CNY?
*
not proton's problem....it's the SA's problem
and things like this usually happen when near festival like hari raya and CNY
and not just proton...P2 also have this prob
unless u can afford to buy a toyota or honda or something more expensive
next time find someone u know working inside..friends or relatives...they will do it fast for u

you can still steer it, but while you're steering it, it'll have 'klak klak klak' sound... this is caused of shortage of the power steering fluid.

i have another thing in my Saga SE cry.gif

The other day i was cleaning the interior of my car and i notice that the left mirror's interior cover is loose. So i drove to the nearest SC in my housing area and let them know the problem and ask them to fix it...

They take off the cover and he notice that there r 1 clip lost and that causes the cover to be loose...
so i ask them to fix it and they charge me RM4.10 for the clip!!! i am like WTF! it is not that i lost it... it comes WITHOUT the clip! It is NOT my problem.
Their reply to me is... It is NOT my problem too... I am like... WHAT?! U r Proton SC and u r suppose to replace the pin for me and then u claim it to Proton urself!... She said that they cant do it and i have to pay and then claim from the Proton Dealer myself =.="

WTF is this... i am getting more and more piss off about Proton and also lose a lot of confident in the car manufacturer...

Y la my SE so many problem... mad.gif

I am newbie here and just have my Saga SE.. Pls add me 'Saga SE Manual Brilliant Red'

I did experience the same thing at other Proton Edar with the SA.. but you will need 2 browse and check with several PE to get the best deal and accurate price.. with the first SA.. they mention about the same thing.. increase price and delay... but then with my current SA.. I did requested 4 d' 2010 car and manage to get it by late Jan 2010.. with no increase and had free voucher for car tinted....

To make sure d' 2010 production, just check when you received d' 'Perakuan Pendaftaran Kenderaan' from JPJ... it should listed as 2010.. Before the car get listed with JPJ.. I did went for a look at d' car 2 confirm everything with d' SA... SA was being very cooperative.. FYI.. i did d' booking in late december 2009...

I was also brief that every SE car do come with 5 years warranty.. that should include d' clip.. need to complaint 2 your SA & SC..

Need an opinion... Any1 add mudflaps 2 d' Saga SE..??

This might be a silly question. I had been driving manual for quite some time before changing to an auto car. During traffic jams right we tend to place to neutral and put to gear 1 when the traffic about to move. Now my question was if an automatic transmission car during traffic jams should we place to "D" all the time while pressing the brake(which my mom always did that) or place to "N" when you stopped for quite some time and place to "D" when it is about to move? Which option will prolong the auto gearbox lifespan?

of course the latter la...no point keep pressing the brake while at D mode during long wait. Same like u won't put manual gear in 1st and press the clutch to wait long time rite?
