wahlawei .. got the eterna dy aa ?
congrats2 .. hehe ..

how's the bass? as claimed is it ?
*
not sure how to reply that..
if people are saying that it is too boomy.. then i disagree..
packs punch.. yes.
quality? yes.
bloated.. no.
muffles other frequency and sounds.. no.
i can say it bumps up the mid lows.. bass guitar, violins, organs.. something i like biggrin.gif..
i have to say lady gaga - just dance.. (or watever it's name is..) would suck big time.. as everything will be sooo boomy.. same as my own sp1
but then again.. i favour clarity songs.. so.. eterna works like charm here..

fy reference some stuff i listen to:
may'n - iteza gogo kyuji, (macross frontier)
noto mamiko - ichinuke, (jigoku shoujo), ashita no te (witchblade)
tokyo jihen - shuraba, (er.. jpop.. probably acid jazz/pop genre)
ali project - akai usagi, (blade of the immortal)
kitaro & los angeles symphonic - mirai e no sanka,
kalafina - oblivious. (kara no kyoukai)
kitaro - caravansary (everyone knows this song)
geinoh yamashirogumi - kaneda, tetsuo, (akira)
theatre of tragedy (gothic metal i think..)

.. come to think of it.. i havent listened to mainstream songs for quite some time..
to me they lack melody...

the boomy bass is too obvious for me prolly coz the only headphones i use previously is the hd555 and im used to tight puchy bass that comes and goes away quickly...

i do enjoy the mids better than the recessed mids on the hd555.. but dang with eterna when the bass comes you'll know whos the boss...
it shoves other sound asides.. needing me to EQ to appreciate the mids (take away the bass a bit)
sounds fantastic after that...
A case in point just try to play hey there delilah by plain white T's... i can only appreciate the singer's emotion in his voice after EQ'ing
but this all is a bit expected reading through all the post at headfi on this similar thread...

and yeah fitting is very very very important... stick to deep will cause the bass to be unbearably boomy...
too shallow it will sound like inside a tin can ... only sometimes can i get that magical centre and boy the sound is worth it...
not hifi per se... just very very enjoyable... ill try with comply foam tips later and see if it would helps...

am i dissapointed? no.. i bought it fully knowing its a basshead iem and i want something portable and enjoyable...
so yeah there you go.. its time for me to enjoy the music without being too critical on the sound

have to add a bit..

as feiraron mentioned.. the lows and the low mids are boomy..
so i compared it to original sp1.. and the lows and mids sounded too shallow for my liking..
the eterna is similar to my modded sp1 tho.. and yes.. the bump on the low frequency range maybe a bit too much for some..
as for muffling the details.. im not really sure, coz my ears r kinda sensitive to trebles n high freq sound.. they tend to hurt.. so, on eterna it's just right for me.

imagine listening to sounds in auditorium.. or.. underwater kinda atmosphere.. low frequency sounds tend to echo.. eterna has that.

Depends on how loud you guys are listening to the music. I never find that eterna sounded boomy to me, maybe it's because I listen in not-to-high volumes. This is explained in the equal loudness contour, where the frequencies lower than 1000Hz needs to be bumped more on sound pressure level to have equal loudness in phon.

Eterna never sounded that nice out of the box. It sounded awesome after fully burned in though.

Very true. You can actually find this familiar name on very single shelves at the music shops here.

Ya the only part lacking with the eterna is the accessories. Other than that this IEM is impressive. Where else you can find an IEM which has very low microphonics, comfortable to wear, cheap, durable, good isolation, negates the need for an amp, and most importantly sounds good? Quite hard to find leh.
