You guys very pandai racun people -___-
I originally wanted to get PL-50 at the middle of the month, now that the eterna bulk is there, I better opt for this biggrin.gif

Been using the EP-630, and I can feel the lack of sound quality from it now and need something better.

If my earphones have problems later, am I able to claim warranty through the singapore distributor? Since I got it from the last bulk I don't have the receipt to prove the date of purchase.

I want to revive back this thread. Since there are more Fischer Eterna users now I want your guy's opinion about the tips for the Eterna.

Anyone used other eartips beside the stock bi-flange and the stock single-flange tips? I found that if change to the sing-flange tips the highs are more prominent, changing the sound signature considerably. The bass is also reduced. The biggest problem is that the isolation reduced a lot, does the ultimate ears bi-flange sound like Eterna's single-flange but with more isolation?

Did you guys notice that the "fischer" logo looks like the F word? I mean the "is" on "fischer" looks like "u" blink.gif

Depends on how loud you guys are listening to the music. I never find that eterna sounded boomy to me, maybe it's because I listen in not-to-high volumes. This is explained in the equal loudness contour, where the frequencies lower than 1000Hz needs to be bumped more on sound pressure level to have equal loudness in phon.

Eterna never sounded that nice out of the box. It sounded awesome after fully burned in though.

Ya the only part lacking with the eterna is the accessories. Other than that this IEM is impressive. Where else you can find an IEM which has very low microphonics, comfortable to wear, cheap, durable, good isolation, negates the need for an amp, and most importantly sounds good? Quite hard to find leh.

QUOTE(weib @ Mar 17 2010, 01:14 AM)
For me I don't touch EQ even how awesome it is.
Thats just me, a purist.

So I just have multiple IEMs to suit my mood LOL
But don't take my word as gospel, just how I like it.
*
It depends, IEMs are very different than speakers. There's resonance in high-mid frequencies and high frequencies at default on all IEMs. That's why sleekaudio SA6 have configurable settings to compensate this, their website on SA6 did mention about the resonance effect inside ear canals on IEMs.

I find the eterna just perfect for me that the frequency response on my listening volume is near flat. The proof is that binaural recording sounded nothing short but awesome to me, the 3d effect is easily heard.

I didn't touch my eterna for a whole week and in that period I only used the hippo shroom. Now I'm using back the eterna I understand what others said about their first impression: bass is kinda overwhelming.

But now I understands what it matters is to find the best "synergy" between the song-source-amp-IEM to get the best result. Songs are affected like IEMs too by means of different mics used, recording position, the mastering etc (even the monitoring speaker/headphones used will affect the sound of the songs). Some songs that sounds exceptional on the hippo shroom sounded lifeless on the eterna and vice versa.

I prefer vocals on eterna though, hippo shroom sounded a bit sharp and I never heard people's voice in real life like that. Eterna's vocal sounded more natural.

Glad I got both biggrin.gif
