QUOTE(giggs_509 @ Dec 29 2010, 06:25 PM) Headache.. But does lcd/led suitable for me to watch sports (byond)? No motion blur? Scared regret later. But plasma like too heavy to put on wall.. Are your wall make of Tofu? If not, it shouldn't be a problem. Instead what I worried about is heat.FYI, a 50" Plasma weight less than a 29" CRT. |

QUOTE(goBetong @ Dec 29 2010, 03:10 PM) Friends, You can start from Khin Guan. They normally will put quite a "competitive" price. But the best bet is to ask many shops for few model and compare which model to buy from which shop. You can be surprise at how much that some retailers can cut the price, especially on early '10 or older model.Would appreciate if someone can recommend a good TV retailer in Johor Bahru. All the "star" resellers in this forum serve primarily KL/PJ market. I can't buy thru' them cos' I'm in JB. I wishes to purchase a 46" or larger TV. Thanks in advance |

QUOTE(giggs_509 @ Dec 29 2010, 10:03 AM) now can get around 3k. Just go to the nearest shop and press them for less than 3k, they sure can give you 3k. The other day I ask a 4.3k tv, press till they willing to sell at 2.8k QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Dec 29 2010, 03:46 PM) it seems that Malaysian prefers LCD whereas foreigner prefers Plasma. While this survey is about 3D, the same probably holds true for 2D. m'sian prefer lcd coz plasma use more eletricity?http://macammacamada.com/?p=1355 QUOTE(Gary @ Dec 29 2010, 05:00 PM) harvey norman is selling 40' Samsung LED TV 5th Series at RM2999. 50hz only, very big let down.Original price at RM4999. I am wrecking my brain on this.
I always planned for a 55" LED TV for my new AV room - either Samsung or Sharp. But the Samsung 63" Plasma TV is indeed a big temptation given the size and supposedly better quality picture of plasma TV, and of course the attractive price that comes with it. But was told Plasma does not last as long as LED. Would appreciate Sifus' advice on which is better LED or Plasma. |

QUOTE(toffeeman @ Dec 30 2010, 11:13 AM) I am wrecking my brain on this. I'm not a sifu but I was in the same situation as you. But after comparison, samsung plasma 7 series is more watchable than the LED counterpart plus much cheaper price. If you use the TV mainly for movies and byond, go for plasma. The black level, shadow details and pleasant color tone are just better. LED is more for show off I think and so damm expensive.I always planned for a 55" LED TV for my new AV room - either Samsung or Sharp. QUOTE(Irfan2397 @ Dec 30 2010, 11:26 AM) Sure LED will last longer. Say......20 years vs 15 years for Plasma? At that rate, does it really matter how long those things last? Like I say, stop worrying over something that is not important in real life. Now here's a twist for you. Sharp said their LCD panel can last as long as Plasma. So what have you got to worry about? TS should spend more time testing both and see which one suited his viewing pleasure. |

It also depends on your viewing room's ambient light. In brightly lighted showroom, the LED will look better because of higher light intensity emitted. In dimmer lighted environment of a typical house, the Plasma will look better.TS should spend more time testing both and see which one suited his viewing pleasure. |

O.o For watching movies at home.when watching at night with all the light off, i put at medium, otherwise it was too bright till my eye hurts.. If you are not going to use the higher brightness of LED by turning it down to Plasma level, then why pay more money for something you are not going to use? Why not just save your money and get the Plasma? This post has been edited by Optiplex330: Dec 30 2010, 06:11 PM |
