Bear in mind that some promotions are/were temporary and not permanent features of Amex. The current 15% cash back is a good example.

After using Amex Gold cc for a few months, I must admit that this card has been benefiting me much, such as 15% cash back, 5x MR points, 0% interest till Dec 09 and cash redemption. Also, Amex always comes out with attractive promotions/contests back to back. I am sure I will continue possessing this card, at least for another year.

The major disadvantage is still its low acceptance level, but it is improving now. Therefore, Amex can only be used as a backup, unless you spend in higher-end shops in big shopping malls. Also, Amex Gold cc doesn't provide complimentary travel insurance for air ticket purchase.

Is it AMEX Gold CC? It is pretty good since it gives 2X bonus points for all transactions and 5X for petrol and groceries and auto debit for utilities.

I thought 5x MR points will only be given for Express Autopay via Amex? In your case, you signed up Auto Debit with DiGi directly, and you are able to get RM5 discount and 5x MR points every month?
You can use the card at outlets giving 5x MR points, such as petrol stations and hypermarkets. Furthermore, the points will never expire.
Just give the CS a call and you can exchange MR points for cash rebate. RM1 = 200 MR. I have done this twice.

Confirmed that for my celcom case I did get 5X rewards points without signing the auto express form.

yes all cards have the RM50 GST regardless whether they have fee waivers or not. The Fee waiver is referring to the card's annual fee (which is charged by bank), while GST is collected by Government.

10000MR points to redeem.

If you're using for petrol, groceries, cathay cineplex, phone bills, you only need to spend RM2k to get 10k MR points. RM1 = 5MR points
For other spending, you'll need RM5k for 10k points. RM1 = 2MR points

IMO, Amex Gold CC the cheapest card to earn points for GST redemption.

1st AF for Amex Plat cc is automatically waived. Amex/MBB knows that this product is rather weak and has since reduced its income requirement to RM60,000 per annum only, as well as given AF waiver for 2nd year onwards upon request. Amex Plat cc now intends to target mass market but unfortunately, its benefit sucks, can't even compete with its Gold cc.
