QUOTE(one.good.guy @ Feb 15 2006, 05:37 PM) hmm. sth offtrack.. i wonder what the thread starter meant by : "Lets talk salary!, What is the industry rate, we must unite" UNITE as in how? distributing our salaries to leverage the whole market? unite as in not letting the salary range drop. this was what happened to multimedia and arts students whereby the graduates kept lowering the asking price of salary. doing so damages the industry for job-seekers.....

I think the only 'fast track' to increase salary if to switch company..provided that you have at least 2-3 years experience before..
coz usually companies give 10-15% increase per annum, while you can demand 20-30% more if switch to other company..

I hope i am in one of those company... sob sob.. my increment this year is only 5%... I feel that employees nowadays likes to hoop from one job to another just to get increment.. that's really a bad sign... but again, most company doesn't really appreciates the staff.... and giving out little increment.. imagine the inflation rate is 10% but the increment is only 5%... aren't we getting poorer and poorer every year? I sure wish that the government can set some kind of minimum increment for staff... at least in par with the inflation rate lah.. so that our purchasing power will not be lesser...
