U guys getting paid anything above 1.6k should sweat no more...

I've been in my job for almost 2 years now (next month), and I'm only paid 2k. I have a 2nd upper degree in CompSc. but qualifications count for nothing when it comes to jobs.

p/s: I'm no programmer tongue.gif

unofficially....i will b asked to help out the marketing department doing promotions at schools n education fairs...
Company : IPTS (it's only 4 years old)
Industry : Science/Engineering Technology Education
Tenur : permanent
Employment Level : non exec (i think....)
Years spent in company: by august it will b my 4th year working there
Experience before joining : before i joined the present company i worked as a temporary sales exec for NST (after i failed to complete my chem eng degree)

So what do u guys think? too low huh? i think im already in my comfort zone. im hungry for new challenges. i feel like waiting for another year or so to c where this place is heading. Initially i was hoping to b placed in one of the chemical engineering labs until my my boss decided that a lady is more suitable in an analytical chemistry lab. i totally divert from my qualification. Anyway, i guess i started to enjoy doing analytical labwork and im planning to continue my degree in industrial chemisty. I guess my strength at the current workplace is....im somewhat has become the refrence person in handling all the PE (a famous brand in life and analytical sceince field) analytical equipments (something which im proud of). Earlier this year my HOD have asked me to supervise all the technicians by verbal appointment with no large increment cry.gif I want to venture into R & D or the OGP industry n c how much im worth....

i would like to hunt for new jobs but i guess what's keeping me from doing so is bcoz i don't think i'm worth that much in the industry. i know i need to change my attitude if i were to hunt for new jobs. the working environment so far is quite FRIENDLY but BANGANG mad.gif (although after 4 yrs of operations, the management is still unprofessional in handling certain matters vmad.gif). i know that im underpaid when i heard most of the former students here can get RM 2k upon confirmation cry.gif most of my friends whom are working in the industry are suggesting to me CABUT so it serves the management rite not to JAGA the welfare of the technical staffs (i was among the few pioneer staffs that attended the equipment training. the institute needs to fork out quite a big sum of money to retrain new staffs if i were to cabut).... it has always been their priority to take care of the lecturer's welfare...

well i think most IPTS gave priority to the lectr instead of technical staff. but most IPTS actually care less about all the staff's welfare. they dont even provide a place to pray 4 the staff. but if i were u, i would fid other job, u r marketable enough cool.gif . IPTA especially pay very well for technician. i heard in gov, the salary grade was great rclxms.gif

which university? local?

Im interested in becoming an aircraft engineer
*
there are lots of school for ppl to become aircraft engineer. but first u need to clarify what exactly u wanna be. do u wana be engineer who design the aircraft, mods, study the stress, strain effect on it OR u wanna be engineer who maintain the aircraft. to be the first engineer, go for aerospace/aeronautic degree in any uni is good enuf. to be the second engineer, u can go to for my place, unikl-MIAT, which i bet most advantagous compared to other local school. for oversea, i suggest look in UK, start with kingston U or glamorgan.
