QUOTE(albnok @ Oct 13 2009, 02:12 PM) Anyway, the pixel-peepers must've been waiting for this part - high ISO 100% crops! damnn!!!very good ISO control....after this sony will not be looked down.... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « It seems that they have aimed for Nikon-style noise reduction - more chroma NR than luminance NR. Personally, I would not hesitate to use ISO3200 and ISO6400 on the A550! This is amazing progress from Sony. One can only wonder what future models will bring! Next up: pictures from the A550 on the field! |

QUOTE(albnok @ Oct 13 2009, 02:10 PM) ------ 8< --- snip --- 8< ------- Wireless TTL flash is supported without ratio control, but it cannot use the Sony HVL-F58AM nor the Sony HVL-F20AM as a commander while attached to the A550. This was kinda expected of bodies lower than the A700, unfortunately. F58AM cannot be used as commander on a550 ? |

QUOTE(AlphaBeta @ Oct 13 2009, 06:56 PM) if i were you...i'll go for A700 or its replacement..bigger viewfinder...solid body...weather sealed... yummm i'm addicted to liveview D: because the way i shoot, i need the ovf covered at all times when i am not looking through it (long exp landscape, marco, etc). summore the smile detection is fun, prob my gf will enjoy it more then me. what i love is the iso and dro i suppose is better then A700? i could wait for A7x0, but i afraid if they remove the LV @.@Added on October 13, 2009, 8:14 pmeven the A7x0 out, i bet it's gonna cost more at least 1k more then A550 This post has been edited by ieR: Oct 13 2009, 08:14 PM |

Alphabeta : don think a700 got weather seal ... just had a glance on the user guide... it says it is anti dust and anti moist but not water (splash) proof..

Hi guys, i'm new to DSLR world and I just got myself a used Sony Alpha A100 as my first beginner camera.
I found that this camera is quite easy to use and I wanna drop by here to ask one simple n00b question, without buying an expensive macro lens, what's the best solution for me to take a close photo? |
