QUOTE(iena_jr @ Oct 11 2009, 12:30 AM) yeah i've tried a230 n a330 before..n d60.. SOME are expensive...not all.. Sony has the cheapest FF camera..yummy..but if u can afford the N and C's FF...it is better but...sony... like.no.other =.= btw, i've read about the price comparison.. the flashes between sony, nikon n canon... sony is the cheapest.. idk why ppl keep saying sony is EXPENSIVE. lol Added on October 11, 2009, 12:31 am yeah u r right..thanks bro Sony is pretty nice for beginners to start off. |

its hard not to be a fanboy.
about the beginner DSLR...i still think sony is good. Wireless flash is nice..and the grip is comfortable compared to d60 and 1000d. |

QUOTE(albnok @ Oct 11 2009, 01:41 AM) AlphaBeta: Undeniably, the professional-level offerings from Canon and Nikon have more features, but if you need an autofocus Zeiss or say the 135mm F2.8/T4.5 STF, you have no choice. yea the STF!..they mentioned about this in nikon thread...but wht is this STF so special about? read bout it..but still |

QUOTE(ieR @ Oct 11 2009, 01:44 AM) agreed. infact, alphabeta, u are looking backward, u never know what sony next step will be.... they do have the leading HD Camcorder tech, masssive funding, hunting for graphic-software company to buy out and harvest thier tech... etc and they own a huge R&D sensor factory that made sensor for both sony and nikons. they are rich. lol..i know Sony is catching up! but mean while..i better ride on a leading horse. Yea they are still making sensors for nikon. Canon made their own now..was supplied by them.p/s: every1 is shooting me.. This post has been edited by AlphaBeta: Oct 11 2009, 01:49 AM |

@albnok..i like the bokeh produced by the STF...thx for the explaination.
QUOTE(achew @ Oct 11 2009, 01:54 AM) ok..undeniable..noise aspect..sony has no fight against C or N..but maybe due to my shooting habits..i dont really have chance to shoot anything more than 1600 yet...and from my test..3200 stil looks perfectly fine to me after my PP.. yea up to each person... U may use photoshop to lower down the noise or get a better FF with a price of course. woah..i have not even been to anywhere outside malaysia except australia. Shooting under snow isnt my problem to worry too. But i really would like to shoot under heavy rains...i missed out few opportunities to shoot some events due to heavy rain! Im sure a700 onwards are able to shoot under rain..but im not going to risk it..coz they are no strong prove or ppl tried to shoot under heavy rain and claimed tht it has no problem.weather proof wise..well..being an asian guy..too bad i hardly bring my slr to play around with snow..the only chance i had when i was on my trip to korea..my humble a300 works fine..but of coz i never cover it with snow purposely(whats the point anyway)..and i remember i read about an article writing about bringing a900 to some extreme weather..and it works perfectly alright too..but again..its good to have function..but how many of us do that? wireless flash is good...i seriously feel the need of it after i migrated to a850..but dont feel like spending money on extra flash yet T_T grip wise..actually as long as its not too small...most of the grip i've tried(D90..D300....350D..5Dm2..50D..a300..a850) works fine on my palm..perhaps im not that picky.. wireless for the win! all DSLR grips are good for me except 1000d,d40,d60 and Pentax...gosh i hate pentax the most.. |

QUOTE(quintesson @ Oct 11 2009, 01:55 AM) i understand a300 is obsolete but what is the last pricing for it (as a guidance only)? i intend to get it as my 1st dslr because of its 'live view' where else nikon & canon do not have? Sony has the fastest live view focus(meaning very fast lock on)...forget nikon and canon's live view...they sucs! too slow! |

QUOTE(albnok @ Oct 11 2009, 02:09 AM) AlphaBeta: Eh, Pentax makes very feature-ful bodies with very desirable compact pancake lenses! Their K7 is an APS-C wonder. Go try one, seriously. but don u think their grip is too 'short' in front?(not small) i tried k100d or k1000...forgot..been using tht in my optional photography course. |

QUOTE(countdracula @ Oct 11 2009, 02:16 AM) under heavy rain, how u goin to do it? even with ur body is water-proof, i wonder how r u goin to handle the front lens covered with water... tht isnt a major problem..to shoot under rain..ur lens has to be weather proof such as 2470 and 70200...u will notice tht they have big and long hood(not intentionally to block rain). Heavy rain isnt a problem..unless windy + heavy rain!..then u have to be careful. |

d300 yummier.. 51 af point...bigger view finder...8fps!(with batt grip)..weather sealed(can take ur gf showering without worrying water splashing on it)
again..like achew said..if u dont need extra features..don get it..save the money on something else.. If u have too much money and afraid to loose the good specs...go for the best then. good nite.. |

QUOTE(albnok @ Oct 13 2009, 11:14 PM) AlphaBeta: I used the A550 for a whole day, entirely in Live View mode. It's just so much quicker to get the angles I want (plus popping into MF Check LV best done with the camera away from one's face.) haha depends on each person..i don use live view...i prefer looking through OVF..so im craving for bigger view finder. |
