dear Alpharians

need some pointers/guidance here 1st timer into dslr, very noob tongue.gif
which one better/worth to get (value for money) between A300 (cheaper) & A350 (more expensive) and why other than the higher megapixels?

thanks

looks like all the Free courses already full except ''My Job, My passion'' Fotografi Talk. sigh was hoping to join in too.

i would advice u to get a300..to me the extra megapixels isnt that impt....u gonna upgrade 1 day anyway.....so keep those money and get urself a prime..or a flash maybe.. smile.gif

courses wise..its good to go..but if its full..u could always learn it urself...just make sure u r clear of the concepts...and keep shooting n review..anything in doubt..u can always refer to us here =D

oh ya..maybe u can try to join the TT organised by the folks here...im sure u'd learn much much more than those courses... wink.gif

oic, thanks
do u mean different between a350 & a300 is merely the megapixels, no other upgrade features that is worth to shout of?

if given a choice is it worth spending more for twin lens 55/200 + 18/70 or just single len will do?

err..depend on ur shooting style i guess...but to me..single kitlens would do...use it to shoot for awhile..and eventually u'd know what kind of lens u need...

unless now u already had something particular in ur mind that u need a long range lens...then get the twins kit coz the price is cheaper..

I heard the newer 1850 kit lens (ie the one offered with a230 & a330) is much much better in IQ (image quality) than the older 1870. Hence if you can get the newer one IMHO is much better.

The courses always fully book. You can wait for the next one maybe about 3-4 month.

guys, I saw a Zeiss 77mm MC Protector filter at Sony Style last night. Thought of getting it for my lens but wondering, is it UV or clear multi coated only?

I think it is clear MC only but I could be wrong. Albert would know better since he did buy one some time back...

Yes it's Multi-Coated only, not a UV filter. Though digital sensors are not sensitive to UV at all so it does not need a UV filter, just a MC filter.

ahhhh I was just waiting for master albnok's reply. hehehe. I read that UV filter does help in cutting out haze n glare for digital cams though. it supposedly cuts out a certain spectrum of light that makes pics look more hazy. Ada betul kar? The Zeiss 77MC is pretty cheap at rm320 in Sony Style, so the street price shud be a lot less. So thinking bout it. is ur Zeiss MC easy to clean? coz I love my B+Ws as they're super easy to clean.

That certain haze is on film LOL. Unless of course, you can see it in real life on digital shots...

My filters are all different sizes - Carl Zeiss T* MC filter, 49mm for Minolta 50mm F1.4. Easily cleaned. Surface area much smaller, does not tend to get smudged.

Brass B+W 010 Clear MRC filter, 77mm for Carl Zeiss 135mm F1.8. Very easily cleaned but due to large surface area it tends to get smudged a bit more.

Kenko UV MC filter, 82mm for Sigma 17-35mm F2.8-4 EX. Smudges quickly due to large surface area and my tendency to touch the filter when mounting/dismounting the lens.

Hoya Pro1D UV filter, 55mm for Minolta 70-210mm F4 beercan. Doesn't smudge much but then it's probably due to large gripping area of beercan and small filter size.

Hoya Pro1D UV filter, 62mm for Minolta 24-105mm F3.5-4.5(D). Same as beercan, not much smudging happens due to smaller size of filter.
