I once used Falken 912 for my previous ride and i just found it to be just okay, and i more impressed with vios stock tyre (BS Potenza RE 080) than the falken 912.

I now considering BS Potenza RE001 or Continential SC series. Which one should i go? Would love one that grippy and for hard cornering.
*
well RE001 should be ok for you but it is a bit pricey... but if you don mind tying Federal 595 evo as other bro said it is good... smile.gif RM250 is steep... RM200 for that is a reasonable price... for RM250 i better get PP2 coz cornering in wet is not as important as the hydroplaning ability of the PP2... but no one knows about the durability yet as this tire is still new...
Hankook V12 also not that bad... and it cost only RM190/pc and i'm impress with the grip also... wet and dry... compare to PP2, V12 has the upper hand on comfort and cornering (wet and dry, PP2 lose a bit here) but PP2 give you more precise handling (V12 lose about 0.3sec steering response if you are driving around 110km/h) and also hydroplaning (PP2 can consider best in UHP class)...
BS RE001 around RM270, MICH PP2 around RM230, Toyo R1R around RM300(???), Toyo T1R around RM260,
Cheapest Federal 595 Evo around RM210, Hankook V12 around RM190... but you will impress on the value vs performance ratio... the thread wear of V12 also not bad, PP2, T1R tends to wear faster on shoulder... others has not really study around yet...
coz my priority is Straight-line Hydroplanning, Cornering Grip/Traction, Comfort and of course noise is not too loud... i don like tire which is hard hard side wall.. PP2 for me is a bit on marginal but it give me fun of driving during wet as it cuts thru any small patch of water easily (hydroplaning)...
u also must list out... the most important part of the tire to you...
for me any time i can go back to PP2 coz i prefer to have faster straight line speed in wet... smile.gif

QUOTE(vios2002 @ Dec 26 2009, 03:27 PM)
both tire corner just so so ... if for hard corning try look for like from toyo r1r / kumho ku 36/ BS Re01r / federal 595 Rs-R or 595 evo if money not any issue then yokohama AD08

Added on December 26, 2009, 3:29 pm

u will surprise federal offer for the grip level...  low cost some more...
*
Well Hankook V12 also not bad but i'm willing to try 595 Evo after this set of V12... RE001 is a bit too steep but the dry grip is good, wet is ok if you don mind driving 60~80km/h during heavy rain... Toyo tires' price also a bit high la... the best for value is Federal 595 Evo, Hankook V12 and also Kumho...

QUOTE(vios2002 @ Dec 27 2009, 12:18 PM)
from klang (klang utama) some of the klang tire shop do sell this tire but they dint promo much... some of my friend say this tire can use meh? then they just in my car for some corner demo ... they silent after that...

this looks good almost similar thread like V12 but again now u can find most of the tire is having quite similar ones but it is ur choice to take a deep breath and choose which ever u like to try... smile.gif

Cheers... it is just my opinion but u all have to set priorities b4 u jump into conclusion which to get...
remember the most important is Handling, Traction (Dry and Wet), Comfort and Noise...

michael9413,
agree with you...trying a other then japanese brand some time is a big risk... now i look for tire with outside tire block design as width as possible ... feel more stable in cornering...

Hankook i only like RS2 tire... some friends good .. they say poor man UHP tire... and now RS2 is very hard to find ...hankook have launch RS3 i think here dont have ... and size is very od...

same engine, pickup power and FC i think old vios "abit" better since old vios has lighter body.

yea, i know the new vios use same engine and heavier by 70kg
the new vios pick up that time i think got delay 1 sec like this, it is electronically control for better FC or its originally like this due to its weight?

The new vios is designed to be better than the old vios with 'stuffs' like DbW, EPS, newer ECT, ...; better aircon outlet positioning, larger interior & boot space and quieter, more cup holders, faster acceleration, better FC, etc - it is all carefully tested internally (if you had seen the internal brochure).

Try not to compare with a seasoned engine vs a brand new one.

p/s: As for quieter, I can't compare since hardly found both that have the same tires.

A Happy new year to all vios owners of LYN rclxms.gif

If there one wish for my vios for 2010, i hope to get eibach lower springs + 17 inch rims n tyres for my ride, and perhaps some level 1 engine upgrades like good drop in air filter, CAI and hopefully exhaust!

Cheers!

eh guys, just wanna ask something..
im promoting a vios to my housemate, probably going to ask him to buy the lowest end one-J auto.
anybody knows whats the difference between VIOS E in terms of internal space-my work mate said e is much more spacious-very very doubtful of that.
by the way, can we actually pay a downpayment using a credit card?LOL, it sounds kinda lame but i guess thats ive been asked.cannot answer that as well as i never tried myself tongue.gif

Hey guys, it's time for me to go for the 30,000km air conditioner check by Toyota, the Toyota AC Care Package 1 Toyota Service Center.

Can someone provide me with the package price or preferably the spread down of the charges?
