What's your instance FC meter show when downhill? Could you verify that it show 99.99 km/L (or similar) as my friend told me about it. It could have been 'infinity' since it is close to zero fuel used.

Anyway jam city drive avg @ 13km/L is better than normal (remember that avg 9km/L faced by our Campro friend), I used to get 12km/L. However I try wake up earlier a bit (and back earlier) just to skip most of the peak period (still minor jams) and FC up to avg 14km/L, hardly 15km/L as brochure claimed.

hmm.gif  I usually drove until 1 quarter left (2 bar left) then refuel and it clock 375km already (around RM50 if using the 'cash-gauge' tongue.gif). I never waited until it blinked/alerted for refuel.

Added on November 23, 2009, 12:02 pmAnybody has FC for manual Vios J? I'm kind of interested in manual J.
p/s: If I bought ViosJ manual, my house got 3 dugong. doh.gif Haha
*
i been driving vios J manual for 6 month plus ... 1st before 1st service average abt 500km ..then after 2nd & 3rd service average 580+ ... some time can get 600km this also depend how you drive ....

every time gear shift is less then 3.5k rev i try to control at 3k.... slow slow apply gas paddle .... if air filter is clean can get better km...

anyway, feel free to join the forum.
have u tried the method? does it work? hehe...
*
yes i have try that before i post the info in that forum..... It works early stage very hard to control the gas level now ok...
over there i use Xbalance name here biggrin.gif here i use Vios2002

it works for auto too but need to change driving style...

QUOTE(padisawah @ Dec 18 2009, 10:35 AM)
am thinking of lowering + improving handling. do u guys think lowering spring will cause prob (tyre hit fender etc) for my 205/50/16 wheel setup? heard eibach spring is recommended. hmm
*
if tire hit fender main problem is the wheels offset is not correct ... for new vios07 best offset is +40 ~ +45 max rims size is 17"
iebach spring ok lah... maybe u can try mine ...

I once used Falken 912 for my previous ride and i just found it to be just okay, and i more impressed with vios stock tyre (BS Potenza RE 080) than the falken 912.

I now considering BS Potenza RE001 or Continential SC series. Which one should i go? Would love one that grippy and for hard cornering.
*
both tire corner just so so ... if for hard corning try look for like from toyo r1r / kumho ku 36/ BS Re01r / federal 595 Rs-R or 595 evo if money not any issue then yokohama AD08

but noise term? how?
acceptable?
*
noise level, abit high for my federal 595evo set that i having.... i dont care much for the noise ....
my friend say noise level is high that also depend on road surface how well / smooth it is ... he was surprise also for the grip level in cornering for such a cheap tire can offer ...

most of the performance tire noise level not so good but it offer good tire grip... but for non performance tire if offer good comfort / noise level but performance level drop....

michael9413,
agree with you...trying a other then japanese brand some time is a big risk... now i look for tire with outside tire block design as width as possible ... feel more stable in cornering...

Hankook i only like RS2 tire... some friends good .. they say poor man UHP tire... and now RS2 is very hard to find ...hankook have launch RS3 i think here dont have ... and size is very od...

auto or manual?
is the trd spec faster than those G and S spec?
in 0 - 100kmh
lowering will void the absorber part warranty..lowered will be more stable...
go for it
can pair with stock absorber...
rims first... skirt can slowly survey
maybe they will come out with never design or custom it...
i prefer the old version trd skirt on new vios
picture here

Fast car right in the video? he car spec is manual vios, mod airfilter, Exhaust system and fly by wire controller things...

QUOTE(kahjye @ Jan 3 2010, 05:25 PM)
wow...void the suspension.. lol..do they cost alot?

Added on January 3, 2010, 5:26 pmTRd spec has the same engine as the  other spec sad.gif

yeah... fast...
fly by wire controller? SAFC? emanage?
*
not both lah... somethings like the pivot unit can boots the throttle controller things...
like when apply 50%gas it will open about max close to 98% ...this thing dont create extra horse power.

just to cheat the throttle control unit.

QUOTE(padisawah @ Jan 4 2010, 12:54 AM)
yeah! confirmed by xbalance already...hehe
anyway the owner using throttle controller thingy which can make the surge. as vios auto in stock already can feel the sudden surge if step the throttle pedal suddenly, if install the controller plus a manual vios, that explains the huge sudden boost
*
not really sudden boost, this thing just like when u step the gas paddle at Max still get the same function....

dont waste money, now days FC is more important.

What u soo suprised off? Ths vios body is indeed light at 1050-1100kg, unlike the new city at 1150kg. That explains it has good FC and spirited drive.
*
yes i agree with you, that also depend on you which model u take like J manual spec say 1020kg after mod now weight less then 1000kg... FC improve and respond better..

Pivot throttle controller ? tongue.gif
It depends. I treated my vios as a reliable workhorse, therefore I will never trash my car inside the track although most of my friends persuaded me to do so. Sometimes I needed the spirited drive, thus I upgraded the wheels and suspension and nothing more. Some people they modified their car as if they wanted to enter a racing competition but in the end they only use the car for 'daily to and fro'. Vios is designed to be an economical car, nothing more or less. It's their choice, lol, but it's good for automotive business tongue.gif . As for me, I rather buy another car for weekend/track drive. Probably a toyota mr-s or lotus elise should be good. smile.gif
*
wah weekend car... so good ...i like to go track for weekend drive but i try to skip track day budget is high even so like 3 hour in sepang... tire, brake pad, clutch...alot of money to waste...

last time got join a friend play offroad buggy really fun ... learn alot

hope later mid of the year my uncle is getting his F430...will ask a week ride...haha

i just went to Toyota SC. Showed them my exhausted tire that is with the car from day 1, which is about 1 year ago, they said they will charge me for alignment but will replace the tires for me for free.
after i come home only i realize, why I am charged if seems they admit it's part of the problem.

any1 encountering vios J with goodyear GT3 exhausted after 1 year? it's only at front wheels edge. heard they r going to change it to GT5 or some xx5.
*
i came across this issue too ... im not using GY GT3, change after got the car... a friend of mine say i like to push corner in and out that cause my outer tread wear out faster ...there is a stage a change my wheel camber to -2 and toe is 5 ... the outside wear have reduce but other new issue came in... very hard to drive in a strait line it is easy pull from left and right...

now im learning how to drive at a lower speed to prolong my tire...

i found in another forum there is a guy facing uneven wear for his rear tire, after checking with SC they say it was torsion beam suspension arm that cause this issue.
