Nice group you got there. How about another sub category for "Fuel Consumptions" and "Common Problems/Issues"?

p/s: Maybe later also have "Spare Parts Cost", and "Service Cost"...

as well as '08 Vios J auto.

The dugong cute mah. And it is the cheapest proper non-problematic car one can get. I don't have time for this, or this, or this. Although it is noisy a bit. tongue.gif

Mahal? LandcruiserII is only 60k like 10yrs+ ago. Now the market value only like 25k. But it is purely mechanical & carburator engine (using Celica R22 engine) - I like, no electronics.

p/s: Used to have another KE70 but stolen. vmad.gif

Toyota owners, do the G and TRD specs have better stock soundproofing than the J/E specs?

Should be the same.

So far i impressed with my FC, just dropped 2 bars for 130km mileage so far smile.gif
*
Actually I'm not that impressed on that FC figure - 65km per bar (avg) is kind of in the common low side for FC (city drive mostly). However I guess your road condition has hills & bumps?

I've tried 115km for the 1st bar to dropped, from Zoo to KLIA under smooth traffic (with the usual Tesco Ampang jam stretch).

Recent trial of Shell/95 got me 55km per bar avg - ditched Shell and now trying Petronas/95 (getting 65km per bar avg).

Haha just back from whacking the highway. Seeing i just completed the 1st service, drove to NKVE after work to see what is the top speed i can get. Just a slight pedal and i myself didnt realise i hitting 120kmh sweat.gif

Overall the best top speed i can obtained is 180kmh on straight, although the car was quite nervous, perhaps some thicker anti roll bars and front strut bars may be needed in future.

Ended up my car fuel gauge blinks by 500km and filled her up. Clocked 13.8km/l for this tank, using Caltex ron95 which is not bad. Now trying petronas ron95 which i not putting much expectations. wink.gif

Let my car go bankai once a while before petrol prices rises up! tongue.gif
*
For Vios the speed doesn't make much difference in FC. However traffic condition & load do.

I've tried 110km/h & 150km/h on kl/penang stretch & back, doesn't make much difference: here's what I go
- 18km/L (2 person with full trunk load) with 110km/h
- 18.6km/L (2 person only) with 150km/h

So u telling i should speed more so i can save fuel? tongue.gif haha
*
No. I just mean that Vios going fast doesn't greatly consume the fuel exponentially (or even linearly). I found out that the range between 110km/h ~ 150km/h doesn't differ much in FC.

The FC changed is because of load, traffic condition & distance, not because of the speed.

Just kidding earlier on. tongue.gif

I thinking of removing the spare tyre to save some weight so perhaps will gain extra mileage. U think its worth it?
*
So you want to get lighter ah? Maybe wear less cloth, don't put rubber mats, no tinting, no boot tray, no spare tire, no body kit, half tank fuel, half wind shield washer water, no passenger seats... tongue.gif

The spare tire is useful. Or You could buy a set of lighter alloy rims and take one of them as your spare (the other 3 just keep it for future).

Reviving the thread!

My recent FC always average at 13km/l++. Although on my average FC meter on the car it shows 14-14km/l++ by average
*
What's your instance FC meter show when downhill? Could you verify that it show 99.99 km/L (or similar) as my friend told me about it. It could have been 'infinity' since it is close to zero fuel used.

Anyway jam city drive avg @ 13km/L is better than normal (remember that avg 9km/L faced by our Campro friend), I used to get 12km/L. However I try wake up earlier a bit (and back earlier) just to skip most of the peak period (still minor jams) and FC up to avg 14km/L, hardly 15km/L as brochure claimed.

You pump 97 or 95 ? My sis's Vois each full tank can run 380KM until the alert light up with 100% city drive + 20% stuck in traffic, pumped Shell 97.
*
hmm.gif I usually drove until 1 quarter left (2 bar left) then refuel and it clock 375km already (around RM50 if using the 'cash-gauge' tongue.gif). I never waited until it blinked/alerted for refuel.

Added on November 23, 2009, 12:02 pmAnybody has FC for manual Vios J? I'm kind of interested in manual J.

p/s: If I bought ViosJ manual, my house got 3 dugong. doh.gif Haha

The new vios is designed to be better than the old vios with 'stuffs' like DbW, EPS, newer ECT, ...; better aircon outlet positioning, larger interior & boot space and quieter, more cup holders, faster acceleration, better FC, etc - it is all carefully tested internally (if you had seen the internal brochure).

Try not to compare with a seasoned engine vs a brand new one.

p/s: As for quieter, I can't compare since hardly found both that have the same tires.

Not only white pain, chipped off paint also visible (and a lot) in blueish gray. Paint quality (I suppose the clear coat) is darn thin.

Back from my CNY holidays, and a happy cny to all here smile.gif

Drove my car outstation to Ipoh n some long distance places, and for 2 tanks, my FC accumulated at 14.6km/l at 1st tank and on my most recent tank, 15.6km/l! All is pumped using Esso Ron 97 fuel thumbup.gif

That also not necessary by driving with light foot. tongue.gif
*
I going to brag my achievement with light footing (and smooth traffic) again tongue.gif... I got 18+km/L from kl to pg.

You mean the clutch or the throttle? The clutch should be hydraulic, throttle is dbw.

Added on February 19, 2010, 2:12 pmAnother thing guys (just ask around), two questions:

- while in D and car stationary, do you have any noise like grrrrrrr....?

- after reverse, car stopped, quick shift to D, accelerate hastily... got a jerk and a sound 'dom'. if i do it a little slower, quiet & smooth. Do you have any similar encounter?

You should ask SC to adjust it. Mine have a clear cut line that is just right. Usually the left one should be higher.

Belting noise is quite common for 1NZFE. During service, tell them to rectify belting noise/issue. Common is put some grease (some dark kaya tongue.gif) on it.

I got belting noise with my 1st batch brand new dugong. Solved the problem after two services.

DbW also optimizes efficiency and improve torque response.

Ask those Celica ZZT231 guys about the difference in DbW 2ZZGE vs standard 2ZZGE. wink.gif

Anybody here supercharge 1NZFE before? I'm thinking of getting another manual J and supercharge it. Esp this new one because it has DbW.

p/s: then my house would have 3 Vios dugong. doh.gif Haha.
