QUOTE(redghost @ Dec 14 2009, 09:36 AM) Age: 29 Job Title : Civil & Structural engineer Job Desciption : Senior Engineer (design and manage project) Years spent in company : 7 years Company : Local Palm Oil Industry Industry : Consultant Tenure : permanent Experience before joining : 1 year experience Salary : Basic RM 3.88 k Allowance : RM220 Working Period : 5 days Education Level: Barchelor degree Do i underpaid? 7 years as engineer & 1 year experience prior joining = 8 years all together? How far are you from being a PE? I earned more than you after 2 years as engineer many years ago. I know one bumi PE earns around 15k basic in a bumi company. Do not have a lot to do since his technical skill is very shocking.

QUOTE(Looi @ Dec 17 2009, 04:11 PM) that bcoz hes so smart to convert his canadian dollar to RM and not realising hes in canada, spending in canadian dollar. You're quite right. I'm earning about 3.5k CAD, but from what I've seen here a fresh grad programmer with a degree is lucky to make RM2k-3k and I have only just finished my 2nd year in uni. Plus, taking monthly expenses into account, I would say its about the same as living in KL (around 600-800/month). So I still think engineers in Malaysia is undervalued. But you must know earning CAD3.5K does not equal to earning RM11.5K in Malaysia unless you earn CAD and spend RM in Canada.
It is not absolutely correct to say that Engineers earn a low pay in Malaysia. My company is paying fresh grat Engineers RM3K to RM3.5K depending on qualifications.

It is not absolutely correct to say that Engineers earn a low pay in Malaysia. My company is paying fresh grat Engineers RM3K to RM3.5K depending on qualifications. You are half-right about that. I'm spending CAD as far as necessary expenses are concerned, but I'm saving up to spend some RM when I return to Malaysia. This post has been edited by eb0nY & iv0ry: Dec 17 2009, 10:36 PM
