when you say Telco field, is it more towards IP networking (router and switches) or 2G 3G Wimax kind of networking?

Lets dont take allowance into consideration.. With almost 4 years experience in telco field, RM4k basic only slightly underpay..
The 1k allowance definately help a lot wink.gif

Some forumers adviced the allowance is not considered as a package when u jum ship in the future and new company only considered your package is basic without added in your allowance.
Is it true. Please advice. thank you very much.

Just include your fixed allowance in the basic salary. Of course the new Co. will consider the allowance as income, course at the end you are getting all into your pocket.

unless the allowance is those in claim format.. like petrol, toll and mobile fees..

where u claim the full amount as per use.. those will not be consider as fixed income and some new company will not include those in... but u can show the the average amount of claim... to justify to add those in..

I think the pay is so-so, you can get better offer via headhunter. Probably 30-50% more.

I got a job offer recently from a multinational company in Shah Alam as an Engineer, and the salary they offered me is as follows:

- under probation time (3 months): RM2000
- after probation time RM2200 + RM100 transportation allowance. 12 days annual leave and other medical benefits. The annual increment is 5-6%.

It's a big japanese company but I'm not sure why the pay load is too little. Normally it's 2500-2600 for this kind of industry. is this normal from a japanese company?
any comments or comparison would be appreciated! smile.gif Thanks in advance..

From my experience, I haven't seen contractual jobs because for all freelance jobs in advertising industry, normally they will pay by project base, not contract base.

For Project base jobs, it could be translation, copywriting, artwork design, editing etc. There are mainly 2 ways of payment mode:
1. 50% down payment upon confirmation, subsequently 50% upon submission of final work
2. 100% full payment upon final work

You may consider to adopt option 1 if the advertising agencies that you work with are new agencies or small agencies that you work with for the first time. Reputable agencies are fine, they will keep promise and punctual in payment.
