In my opinion, contract base will get better pay than permanent. Usually contract base will not get bonus but permanent will have.
3.5k is very great pay.
Your job title is "consultant" but job description is "programming", so what is your job actually?

I can't remember where I found this source.. but those figures are not made by me.
I did make some researches on lecturer salary not too long ago, and get it from a forum discussing about it (don't ask me which forum, i cant remember. You can google it yourself).
I can't guarantee the source is 100% correct, it is the salary from a government university in malaysia. I can't recall which university..
