this usually happens if you disconnect the batt - the ECU got reset up

from my experience, all of the engine mounting have to be replaced in one shot. else, as the other 2 older engine mounting crack, the vibration may become more and more unbearable...
depending on the brand, but the side(l/r) one is more expensive(may cost about 50% more) than the front / rear.

@b48753@
the steel braided hose seem to settle my spongy brake problem too.
btw, am on bendix metal king titanium brake pad and i noticed it bites the disc faster than my old lousy mintex pad  sweat.gif
now, my mechanic advice me to either upgrade to 2 pots or go for disc skimming  sweat.gif
or perhaps,  buying a performance disc that fit to the stock brake system as a replacement will be just fine!

10-40w. you can either use mineral(5k), semi synt(7k) or fully synth(10k); depending on the mileage...
i am on shell hx7. so far so good. but since am no longer filling up with shell, might try elf on my next change...

Thanks for your reply , yngwie.

Since they have put in those chapalang Engine mounting for the Up and Down side , is it okay if I get the better ones ( TE Engine Mounting ) which is selling in LYN here for the Left anf Right ? I can seriously feel the engine vibration when D engaged with brake pressed. ( Complete stop ) sad.gif Before they changed , even the cracked one never produce any vibration , just that the steering wont turn back to original position during U turn.

Anyway , How much you bought for the 1.8 twin exhaust ? I thought of going to de-cat next month but the engine mounting giving problems.. blush.gif We'll see how later. drool.gif

ohh okay. i guess my mech put in a higher viscosity grade of engine oil for a reason. my car has clocked 153k km already. so i guess it wont be advisible to switch to a less viscous oil right?

btw im just curious. why does a fully synth oil that is supposedly thinner last longer than semi synth which is thicker? kinda confused with this one.

Not so sure bout TE brand..but anyway if using original (proton) engine mounting it totals up RM 250 without installation. Shop will charge around RM80 for installation.

Here's the link to the TE Mounting thread.

It looks reliable and durable.

Any idea if Proton SC will charge for service charge for installing the mounting which get from them ?

@loong2020@
thanks for the head up, bro. i always mixed up the term.
your pblm could be caused by the waja floater strange behaviour. try driving further and see if you could cover at least another 350km... tongue.gif
i seldom refill full btw. always maintain at 2/3. this case, the car doesn't feel so heavy.
don't wait till the fuel warning light is turn on prior to every refill. waja fuel pump is very sensitive.
fuel pump could last over 5 years on proper usage(refer to above).
how fast were you driving?

@Andy0625@
steering vibration only or dashboard vibration too? have you service you steering pump lately?
any brand should be almost identical to the oem one. as long as they give you the warranty / good workmanship, i guess should be ok. icon_rolleyes.gif

the ori twin exhaust was given to me by my friend when he upgraded his twintip mivec to the bigger one.
mainly for cosmetic purpose cuz' i didn't feel any noticeable different in performance.
kinda tempted to change my cat-con too. i saw one non-welded type in rimus brand but it cost quite a lot sweat.gif

There's rattle sound from the dashboard , but it doesn't vibrate like earthquake though. changed the steering pump months ago in SC.

Anyway , I might be putting the mounting on hold and going for removing the cat-con , wanna go along ? biggrin.gif Maybe we can get cheaper price.

@andy@
proper engine mounting change should settle the dashboard vibration.
i prefer those non-welded type mid box. i saw one in bandar tasik selatan. relatively unknown rimus brand already cost around 250 bucks.
where are you located at?
@cosmi@
starting up is above 10k and slightly below 10k after a while. you have to wait for the temp gauge to move to idle temp which is slightly under 100 degree
for optimum idle rpm.
btw, the usage of different type of engine oil; mineral, semi synth or full synth does affect the cold start up and idle temp.

I'm located in Cyberjaya area , what about you ? Instead of going for the unknown Rimus brand , why dont we go for Topcat which is made by Everco , Sunway ? Price at Rm250 with instllation aswell. ( The last time I ask )

What kind and brand of absorber you changed ? The price you paid for is pretty reasonable considering that it includes labour charge. I heard that A-Fuji brand that selling in Lyn by imperialics is not bad and cheaper a ill too.

im not sure what brand it is.. cos i passed my car to my cousin and he took it to change at the workshop. but i rmb him telling me its not the gas type. its the hydraulic one. labour charges were not included though. i was charged rm60 for labour for changing engine oil and the absorbers.

am staying in cheras. port somewhere in the mines.
does everco open during weekend cuz' am all tied up on weekdays ?
btw, i bought a set of stock front abs from imperialrealcs@alan before. i could say it was more comfortable than the oem which is of apm brand. and damn cheap too tongue.gif
for fast cornering, tein adjustable is top notch but it sux' in our standard road condition with lotsa' potholes.
damn bumpy ride.
anyone has an experience with a comfortable adjustable suspension?
even mines and sustec soft setting is still not comfortable enough. no more ah beng ride for me sweat.gif

btw, i could have 'd bought this WHEELS if not for the small spoke... sweat.gif

So you're staying around there , and that's cool!
I met a road bully over there today which on the Flyover (whereby if you go straight below the flyover and make a U-turn you'll reach The Mines there) and I was damn angry about that fella which drives a Black color Honda City Number plate BGW 3327.

That time I was wondering which road to take to cheras as I'm paying attention to my GPS to double confirm and I was driving on the emengency lane of that Flyover. Since I'm paying attention to the GPS , I suddenly saw that there's a motocycle infront of me which I'm already quite near , so no choice but I need to slow down and cut into his lane. He doesn't seems want to let me cut into his lane which he keeps on accelerate trying to block me , unfortunately there's another motocycle following me at the back quite near , so I directly press hard on my accelerator and cut into his lane.

I saw that he's damn pissed off trying to cut me back from the left side and pushing me to the side of the wall. He even wind down his windows and showing a rod which he tries to slow down to do something with my car.

If it happens that guy to be your friend , please advise him dont be an as$hole. You think that you're the only one who have rods ? Infact I have more than 2 steel rods in my car. Although I might be young but please dont mess with me and stop being an as$hole.
