its pouch..i wud say its quality is quite low..

btw, answering to our fren who has problem with maxis, when u enter yr SIM card OR restart yr phone, the first msg will be to ask u to choose which network u prefer..so tat settings will be automatically done. just choose 3G n wait..thn all settings shud b in there by itself.

take a look at Main Menu -> setting -> general setting -> wireless manager -> menu -> Data Con. Setting.

hi there...

i had problems like urs previously but now i can use all 3g settings thanks to skymade and solidsnake_84...

wut i did was reset all my operator settings and requested back via re-activation for 3g and mms..

dial *136# for 3g and *133# for mms..will receive message from maxis stating ur connection will be available after 2 hrs n like magic i can use everything..

on how to reset operator connection:

tap on start >> settings >> network settings >> restore connections

then request connection from the 2 provided numbers..

Hope dis will help u out!

just a question, when u rotate the phone sideways when ur typing a sms, how fast does the qwerty keypad go into landscape mode? cuase for mine, its seriously slow n about 60% of the time is doesnt even move or do anything. does anyone knows why? and when can we go into landscape? just curious. i know the internet n photo album can do it, but i dont know the others.

mine's even worse...it lags when rotate like urs n the keypad suddenly disappears...i have to rotate back n lock the screen then unlock back then it behaves like normal...such hassle

i think its probably because of the software...seriously thinking of a reset after a few weeks of use

for mine..it takes 1 to 2 seconds to rotate..quite long i wud say but tat's cz my firmware is still G6 (the original one, untouch, nvr modify).i bliv firmware upgrade can solve it.

and, only certain applications can go into landscape mode..for example like solitaire, cant go landscape..

for Luvz,
when it tries to connect to GPRS/3G data transfer just click the cancel..it will pop out rite?

Go to your GPS Settings and double check these settings:-
GPS Program Port: COM7
GPS Hardware port: COM9
Baud Rate 57600
Make sure 'Manage GPS automatically' is ticked then do a soft reset (Switch off phone then switch on again)

Then stand under clear sky and wait patiently....
I know, GPS lock for this phone can be a pain in the ........ sad.gif

Under display settings, you can try set the brightness to max...
And make sure the Auto Adjustment is not selected, its too sensitive to light changes.

With max brightness, its readable for me under the sun and battery lasts for 2 days, not a problem for me as I charge it daily.
If you have matte screen protector it REALLY helps sunlight readability and it also practically removes fingerprint smudges... smile.gif

Another thing, has anyone of you used any leather cases from Noreve? (www.noreve.com)
Contacted them and they told me that the casing for O2 will be released sometime within these 2 weeks.
Like the design, read excellent reviews but the price, kinda ouchy but tempting.

I asked about Vaja cases too (www.vajacases.com) but the rep told me they have not planned on developing one anytime soon...
Btw, my friends bought Vaja cases for their first generation Omnia. Its just sooo sleek...
I tried PDAir's, can't help it but it feels a little el cheapo...

thanks for the reply. Actually, my setting is correct and I frequently soft reset my device. I wonder could it be some software conflict... I never hard reset my device as I'm too lazy to reinstall all my application... Is there any software out there that can use the diagnostic the GPS???

You need internet access for Google Map as GPS only provides you your location, but not the map. So, you need internet connection to provide you the map.
This is very different from mapking or garmin where you got the map installed in your device.
