thanks for the reply. Actually, my setting is correct and I frequently soft reset my device. I wonder could it be some software conflict... I never hard reset my device as I'm too lazy to reinstall all my application... Is there any software out there that can use the diagnostic the GPS???
QUOTE(bluhound @ Sep 29 2009, 12:13 AM) Go to your GPS Settings and double check these settings:- You need internet access for Google Map as GPS only provides you your location, but not the map. So, you need internet connection to provide you the map.GPS Program Port: COM7 GPS Hardware port: COM9 Baud Rate 57600 Make sure 'Manage GPS automatically' is ticked then do a soft reset (Switch off phone then switch on again) Then stand under clear sky and wait patiently.... I know, GPS lock for this phone can be a pain in the ........ Added on September 29, 2009, 12:16 am Under display settings, you can try set the brightness to max... And make sure the Auto Adjustment is not selected, its too sensitive to light changes. With max brightness, its readable for me under the sun and battery lasts for 2 days, not a problem for me as I charge it daily. If you have matte screen protector it REALLY helps sunlight readability and it also practically removes fingerprint smudges... Another thing, has anyone of you used any leather cases from Noreve? (www.noreve.com) Contacted them and they told me that the casing for O2 will be released sometime within these 2 weeks. Like the design, read excellent reviews but the price, kinda ouchy but tempting. I asked about Vaja cases too (www.vajacases.com) but the rep told me they have not planned on developing one anytime soon... Btw, my friends bought Vaja cases for their first generation Omnia. Its just sooo sleek... I tried PDAir's, can't help it but it feels a little el cheapo... This is very different from mapking or garmin where you got the map installed in your device. I think you don't really understand what is GPS...
GPS is a signal that enable you to know your current coordinate on earth. It info is basically useless (for layman) unless you got a map. Google Map is a very small application that use google internet map (which is why you need to online). Without internet connection, you'll only see a dot in your screen. On the other hand, application like Garmin and mapking have its own map (where you choose which country map you want to download). Since you already got the map inside your device, GPS alone can give you your location in a place. I hope you understand my explanation.. QUOTE(LuVz @ Sep 29 2009, 01:57 PM) |

The map (actually images) will be downloaded into your device (I forgot which location...). But the map is a very small area map (just enough to fill up your screen), so when you keep moving, more images (part of the map) will be downloaded.

I think the person that answer you doesn't know anything. Samsung already received the new win mobile 6.5, but we don't know when Samsung finish tweaking it.

Have you try soft reset (turn off and turn on again, not standby mode)?
As for using 2nd camera, the resolution for the 2nd camera is not so good. I don't think it is a good idea to use it to take photo... QUOTE(72nd @ Oct 30 2009, 08:06 AM) hi guys ~ i have a few problems... i can watch youtube for the past few days but suddenly yesterday it wont play again... it pops up server or data timeout again. i didnt change anything whatsoever. it happens when i was halfway watching it. what should i do? kinomafreeplay somehow wont play any youtube video for me.... and can o2 take picture using the 2nd camera (the camera at front)? its hard to turn your hand and take picture by using the back camera only.. thanks in advance~ |

Seems like no one reply your post
I didn't use SPB Diary... I'm sure SPB Diary is compatible with SPB Mobile Shell 3.5. Just that integration might not be so good... E.g. SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 didn't integrate with SPB weather, but you can still replace the existing weather widget with SPB weather widget. QUOTE(CyberTroop @ May 7 2010, 09:15 PM) |
