Hi ... mxxuang, before you decide whether to continue to take ACCA or a degree in Accounting, you should ask yourself whether you are of capability in handling ACCA or any other professional course.  I am of agreement that ACCA is a good professional body in Accounting / Finance field, but do not forget that, if you want to become an Accountant (in Malaysia, for example) you can have many choices.  Please check MIA website for the professional body that recognized by MIA.

I encourage most of the forumer to take a FASTEST way to be qualified.  Time is money, experience is important.  If you think that ACCA is not suitable for you due to its difficulty/complexity, you may try to have your degree in Accounting from a CPA recognized Australia University.  Yes, you can have your degree LOCALLY, and have your CPA LOCALLY.

ACCA, after the foundation stage which is exempted with CAT, if not mistaken, you have another intermediate and professional stages to tackle, which the FASTEST period for you to have ACCA graduate membership is 1.5 year.

Hence, you should think whether you can handle ACCA or not, if not with this 1.5 year, you are almost ends with your Degree in Accounting, in which after that, you can sit for several (4, if not mistaken) CPA papers to have yourself qualified as a CPA!

I always advise to all my acquaintances to open up their eyes, the world is large, do not because of your stubbornness in one thing (or in one field), you end up with the failure of capturing a better opportunity or opportunitieS (plural).

Good luck!

Don't worry about Internal Taxation. I get "A" !! But, external fail 2 times, 48 (too confident, so lazy to revise) and 46(work harder, but the paper come out tougher!!)

I hate to say, I give up this paper!! Since Colly said will be more tougher... u see my marks is detitiorating

ACCA, or other professional examinations of similar kind are more easier to be studied through a group of people.

Besides understanding all the theories of each topic, attempting past-year questions is very important. ACCA's past-year questions come with suggested answers which are very good / important for examniees to understand what are the topics tested weigthedly.

I normally suggest examinees to "spot" question for the coming diet by comparing previous diet's questions. Be remembered that during examination, especially for those professional exams, our aim is to score the pass, and not score the highest mark (if you can do this, then it is better, but normally, most of us can't).

By spotting questions, without obmitting other topics (meaning you still need to read and understand (plus a bit memory on it), if the question you spotted asked in your sitting, congratulation to you, because you are on the ship of success; but if unfortunately none of your spotted topics asked, then you can try your best to answer the questions by "your memory".

Remember:
1) Group study
2) Understand and cover all the topics
3) Analyse past-year questions (10 - 15 diets)
4) Attemp all past-year questions, read the suggested answer, memorise them (no choice, it is a must for some of the theories)
5) Spot the topics, do in-depth revision on them, purpose -> score the pass, and not score the highest marks.

Good luck!
