I've read in the UK forum that if you have ACCA alone and not a degree, you will have a limitation of not being considered for higher positions...
Is that true? I personally think that is BS considering that ACCA is better than a degree, and a degree candidate still do have to take the professional exams anyway, which just consumed time when the professional ACCA graduates could have started on their ICAEW training....
They kept defending the statement of how there will be a glass ceiling when you apply for top management jobs/higher positions jobs... but I don't think they look for degree alone, but mainly your experience, expertise and MBA will probably helps a lot.
in uk,there might be true..sorry no opinion given as i don't really get to know the situation there...
but for msia, purely having a degree is not sufficient as normally the firm requires the degreeholder to pursue professional exams after they joined in....
so i believe if u are having acca in msia and without a degree,it does not cause a big issue and i don't think it prevents u from going to a higher level position, beside academic ,i do think like wat u said experience and working skills do contribute a lot to the promotion, this is just my 2nd thought...
