Hello .. anyone from Tarc 2005/2006 AFA year 2???? or known as graduated AFA?

I got friends who are graduated AFA...

I just received a letter from ACCA.
regard this oxford brooke uni & UK practising certificate.
It stated there if u wish to take oxford brooke, then have to sacrifierce away ur part 2 paper. <--like this?
wat so good about this UK practising certificate....?

u sure or not...send me the letter leh?got in softcopy or not?
or u mean the letter only for u tarcian ?

ok,i understand liao...
u is tarcian,so u can get full exemption until paper 2.6,in total 9 papers...
but becoz u got exemption on 2.4,2.5 and 2.6,you are not eligible to get the OBU degree,coz one of the criteria to get the degree is u cannot exempted that 3 papers stated above..

therefore,if u want to get the OBU degree,then u need to forfeit the 3 papers exemption lo and take the exam and pass it...understand?

The Uk practising certificate is something like auditor licence like this,correct me if i am wrong,so far what i know is if u want to get that cert in uk,u must choose paper 3.1 and maybe other papers in part 2..

but i believe the uk prac cert won't affect u ..so can ignore it...
and my suggestion will be don't forfeit the 2.4-2.6 exemption just because of u want to get the degree lo...

so as a conclusion,u can ignore the letter..

uh...why like tat one? u also got take tat OBU programme right? SO weird o, why need to forfeit in order to take tat programme... isn't good to have more qualification.

nvm,i explain one more time again....

1) if u wan to take obu,ur degree class is determined by ur acca result,so if u are getting exemption,they need at least paper 2.4-2.6 marks to assess ur class,as a conclusion,u cannot exempt the above 3 papers if you wan to take up OBU...

2)but since u r tarcian,upon finished ur required papers,u can get exemption until part 2,that means included 2.4-2.6,and becoz u are exempted therefore u cannot go for OBU...

3)so they give u one option,if u still want to go for the OBU,then the only way is u need to forfeit ur 2.4-2.6 exemptions and sit those papers in actual exam and pass it,upon passing the 3 papers,ur marks will be needed to calculate what class you have for ur OBU...

4) i can take OBU becoz i did not get exemption on the 3 papers,whereas i am taking from 1.1 to 2.6 by acca exam,therefore i can take obu and also my class will be determined by the average marks of the 9 papers that i passed.

so till here..are you clear?

thought u shd be know this fact when u into the 1st year of AFA...

Tarcian can not take OBU...since the day 1... and u have sign n agree...

The content of the letter didnt say that u need 2 forfeit ur exemption to get ur UK practising cert (audit). All u need 2 do is just to complete paper 3 in 5 years n pass the optional paper 3.1 and then apply for it.....btw, what the cert is for?? Im taking audit now...but havent heard it b4....

i think that cert only necessary if u want to work as auditor in Uk,if not,it does not affect us lo...

Oic.....hmmm..might consider to work in uk one day.....might go 2 sheffield after graduate from tarc to join the top-up degree programme......earn pounds.....looks very lucrative.....haha

i heard my frens who r studying there that we need permit inorder to work there,else ur degree will be forfeited if kena tangkap

yalo,not so easy to work in uk also actually...
coz so far i know they not recognised the degree is by twinning or transfer,need full time study there,but acca case i am not sure la...

Haaahaaaaa......globally recognised professional qualification also have it's disadvantages.....caught by authorities. That's too bad

Agree .... Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants is in the middle of discussion whether to recognise ACCA as professional body which can be Qualified Accountant without go through their Qualfiying Exam (The CPA Qualification Programme (QP) of the HKICPA), or not.


Personal opinion, if one professional is too big, the professionalism within the body is questionable. This is similar to the issues of some big companies, like Microsoft .
