Why not consider A300...add live view and flip out LCD for odd angle shooting.

spec for spec, i'd go for the any lower end sony compared to any lower end N or C. u can get a lot of 'tool' from the sony, unavailable in the other 2 brands. of coz when u look at midrange bodies, it's a whole different story altogether.

my personal advice is that at the low end, u can quite count Nikon out of the equation as it offers the least functions and priced quite the same as other brands.

thank you for comparing same entry level camera...
i did research before i ended up buying A300..

maybe u should research these thing before u make ur decision:
- body price
- lenses price (choose which u might need/want to use)
- flash price
- in-body motor/in-lens motor (and its usefulness)
- AF point
- shooting speed (fps)
- white balance adjustment
- live view (coz i migrated from pns camera)

actually u cant really say its far also.. some ppl like the range that it offers, in fact there are some who thinks 50mm on apsc isnt sufficient, going for the 85, 90 and even 135 primes.. it all boils down to the usage in the end..
furthermore, if you're comparing it with FFs wrt crop sensors, of course it would be tighter

How much u get the A700.. it's 1+2 year FOTOKEM warranty right? The shop told me they have only 3 units left in Malaysia when I ask (in their stock)
Do check on the firmware, whether it's ver1 or later. Mine is Ver1.

I got it for rm 2880 + rm 180 got d 2 years extended warranty. they told me is fully out of stock whole malaysia when i collected mine... My piece is brought over from Malacca.. got "FOTOKEM MELAKA" on the box. not sure how to check d firmware.. but d guy told me should b d old vers. how can we upgrade? d latest is vers 3?? inside d body like got powder like that (hope is not dust).... since 2007 unsure.gif

no limitation on 50mm.. i shooteverything using 50mm.. Potrait, Food, Products, Landscape smtime.. etc etc.. 50mm good for product since it doesnt give a wrong impression on the product size. Mostly use for potrait n Food..

& since i don hv zoom lens... i used my 50mm to shoot "telephoto" shots. Example shoot artist on stage using F1.4, but go home i hv to crop it like 50%... then it works nicely... as long as i don do large print. i rather do this using the prime lens than the kit lens at 70mm due to its sharpness..
