Ksano: The vivid setting has nothing to do with spot metering. Spot metering makes whatever is in the center spot circle become exposed as 18% gray.

So if you point at a black subject, it will overexpose it into gray.

If you point at a white subject, it will underexpose it into gray.

when u upgrade to A700 will u thinking to get a VG for it? im looking for a extra battery for my A700.. i hv used to shooting with backup batteries all this while.. don think i can use to shooting n worry bout the battery dies off.... should i get the VG with Bat or just d battery itself??? the VG actually comes with battery or not? or i hv to get extra bat to put inside?

normally VG dont come with the batt, the 3rd party one la.. but u add a 3rd party batt the total cost will be cheaper..

Ori VG i dunno got come with batt or not.. but mostlikely not.. coz i asked around for the ori batt, its around RM150- 200..

As i know ori VG dont come with battery.

A330 battery cost around RM229 if not mistaken.

A300 battery will be more expensive

I got it at RM3100, after dumping all the freebies. The initial quote is RM3288. It just mean it's still possible to lower the price if I bargain hard enough. Old stock for RM3100. Compare to a unopen box new stock at RM3300. My 2 years extended warranty cost me RM248. hmm.. The price really different a lot at KL n JB. My box shows FOTOKEM S. PARADE. Should be from Subang Parade. They say fully out of stock, is just refer to FOTOKEM STOCK.

To check firmware, ON the camera, press the Menu, and the press the Display button. The latest is version 4.
Whether to update to version 4 or not, it's depend on you.

Mine is 3rd party VG + 1 extra 3rd party batt. Ori batt can last about 1k+ shots. 3rd party wan 200~300 then die dy. ):

My canon A80 got lcd problem.. then bring to repair for free.. even after warranty over.. good thing i like bout canon smtime they din really kira kira too much with u. my friend case they change a newer model digital camera for her FOC cause her camera parts too old oredi.. don think they'll offer such service for dslr parts though.

I got 2880 without ANYTHING... no memory card. no bag..no tripod.. if u manage to bargain until below Rm 3k below.. ur extended warranty will be same as mine rm 180 only.. they count by the camera price. Yupe no stock refering to Fotokem stock only.
