no need panic if the camera does not come with 2.1. Can easily update yourself. Just saying so you won't be bugging the dealer about it. lol

i took its about that price. i find getting frustrated due to paying a bit more then the others will only make you unhappy. Just be glad even pros in military photography even use them besides his trusty Nikon D700
I paid 1550 with 4Gb. |

QUOTE(skyklg @ Dec 4 2009, 07:05 PM) the panasonic LX-3 will it actually produce like same image quality as the Sony A200...?? I wouldn't say same image quality as A200 or any DSLR for that matter but its close. At the most ideal conditions, you'll get comparable image quality. But DSLR is more versatile on the 2 ends of of the said condition. That is high contrast conditions and low light conditions. The LX3's dynamic range isn't as wide as a DSLR due to the smaller sensor size (a lot smaller) while low light performance isn't too good unless you nail the exposure just right or has a flash with you. The LX3 does have its limit. After all it is a compact camera but with DSLR controls. So use it intelligently. as in both taken in RAW.... coz having the A200 but it cant take video when i feel like it.... so i thought that it'd be handy if LX-3 produces the same image quality with video even though the video is not as good as TZ7.... TQ for the advise first In terms of portability, the LX3 is really handy and it can take HD videos provided you have a large enough memory card. I would say, the LX3 is damn fine instrument for publishing photos on the web. For other more serious works, you'll need a DSLR. |

QUOTE(bagata @ Dec 4 2009, 07:39 PM) hi guys, getting a LX3 tomolo at rm1650... For me, when I got mine, I :what is the things i needa check on the camera? camera noob here, wanna use LX3 to start learning... n the camera will come with what stuff? the latest firmware is v2.1 rite? thanks n sorry for all my noob question 1. Put in the battery, switch it on, see the lens travel whether smooth or not...play with the zoom in and out. 2. Check for LCD screen, ensure no defects such as flickering backlight, snowy image etc. 3. All buttons functional, i.e. a beep sound is heard, some menu came out, etc. 4. Test some shots, ensure autofocus is accurate and sharp, ensure flash is triggered in not so bright areas. 5. Snap with SD card inside, then review and format card ensure camera can read / write into SD card. 6. Visually inspect all areas on the camera make sure no scratch and dent marks, no evidence of camera dropped. 7. Check all contents in box, ensure u have : a. Camera b. Lens Cap c. String to attach lens cap d. Neck Strap e. Battery f. Battery Charger g. Power Cord x 2 (3-pin & 2 pin plug) h. Battery holder case i. Camera Hardcase (Leather like dunno real leather or not) j. SD Card (since u paying RM16xx, should get 8Gb panasonic or any brand is ok) k. CD x 2 (Manual & Software) l. Hardcopy manuals m. Ask for screen protector which should be complimentary n. USB Cable for transferring pics to PC from camera o. Video Cable for showing your pics on TV I guess that's about it. I got mine at RM1530 with 4Gb panasonic SDHC. Happy shopping!
