whoots... new LX3 user reporting in!

got mine at rm1550 with 6Gb card!

wah... where u got it?? i been checking this thread for sometime. i want LX3 too...

cz i ady go find the boss nego on fri, den jz now i go den press him again, i say "rm1550 i take str8, i duwan any freebies", he press press calculator, think 5sec den say ok...

at first i also think like you after seeing S90..thinking to get it as it is pocketable and the flash attract me too.... but after think twice, since LX3 if not better or at least equal in term of performance with S90, then what is the point i get S90 and then put LX3 at home sleeping only? for me, impossible to bring LX3 out if i really buy s90.. so i decided look further and fall in lov with m4/3 system now - GF1 or E-P2.. and i my plan to get S90 canceled...i make up my mind that either to get a better system as my main or just used my LX3 as my main toy rather than get 2 same quality camera.. very wasted lor.. at least better camera is good for some serious function use too..now i am waiting for a good time to grab the new toys..

urm, asking... how can i check my firmware version?

and i rmb u guys said that i the LCD needa set brighter/dimmer cz the LCD display differ from the final pics viewed on comp...

its in the menu, setup, version...
i set the lcd monitor -2.. and off the power Lcd.. but depend on your taste...and when shoot under the sun, i on the power LCD to make the screen brighter and vissible..

May I ask, how does one screw a filter on the LX3? I do need a lens adapter or something right?

If it does need a lens adapter, what are some good ones?

Yeah, I'm been thinking of this too... if I were to get a smaller size cam, mostly will sell my LX3... but as of now still don't feel like selling my LX3... have to think of better ways to carry my LX3 without carrying a bag... and I don't feel like hanging it around my neck... if walk around ppl will think im a tourist

i use a case which can hang on my waist.. but normally i just carry it with my hand or hand it on my shoulder like a small bag.. other time, i just put the case into my bigger bag...last time i hang around my neck and it nearly knock the balcony's handrail when i bound my head to look down from a balcony.. luckily nth happen .. tats why now i always put it in the case to protect it..

Added on December 6, 2009, 11:40 pmremember to set ur EV also..cos i found that the photos always appear very dark when u look from the computer.. looking from the LCD its bright and pretty.. i normally use +2/3 EV or 1 EV depend on situation.. but you can process the photos from the computer using silkypic. it will still appear very nice and colourful... this is wat i learn after trying and playing with my LX3..

Added on December 6, 2009, 11:48 pmi am using 52mm lens adapter.. but the disadvantage is when using the build in flash and wider angle, there will be some dark spot end of the right corner in the photo due to the adapter block the flash..if u zoom out a bit, then there will be no problem..but i seldom use flash and if really need, i just take out the adapter..the problem solved..

Why do you want to buy something of the same/slightly worse performance range ?

hehe..if he own S90 in the first place, then should look at better camera,..but too bad he own LX3 now and wan pocketable..so the only option is S90.. ..but i feel its not really a good option to get 2 same quality camera.. tats why now i am looking at m4/3 system now.. i lov LX3 so much..dun think wan to sell it for S90 after i slowly get use to the camera now..

new lx3 user reporting!!! guys one ques on lx3... i bought a 3" screen protector but it seems that the screen protector is way to small for lx3 lcd... so which size suits it best???

some users bought the screen protector for iphone then cut it.. i also face the same problem like you..got about 0.5cm without screen protector to cover it ..

ohh use iphone protector... hmm no choice got to use the small screen protector as well...

What makes u choose LX3? seems like you have almost complete accessories for ur DSLR.

the reason i choose lx3 is because im looking for a smaller cam when i dont feel like bringing my dslr out... and i believe lx3 is one of the best out there without burning a big hole in your pocket... i like lx3 because of the 24mm wide angle and also the F2.0 - F2.8 aperture... and i like the way it looks...
