depends on yourpreference...both have the same retro design...for me i prefer black... silver just looked cheapo...

lol...thats my opinion...

i have the same opinion as u..silver look like cheap casing..black look more professional and tougher tongue.gif and also most of the filter lens and adapter is in black colour.. so i prefer black more.. rclxms.gif

comparing metz 36 with this falcon eyes, i would prefer falcon eye as it provides more function to play with...

metz 36 oni have on-off button while falcon eyes has obviously more...
it even can swivel while metz can't...

hoping u guys would able to support this bulk...

another few more orders, then we are able to get this sweet item at rm 430...

The Metz 36 is indeed 'over simplified' with only an on/off switch, pilot LED and a test button. However, most of its function can be set from the camera's menu system. Which is exactly Metz's way of lowering the price for its products. Yes, it does make things more troublesome but it works.

The ultimate disadvantage the Metz 36 has is the missing swivel function. That more or less kills it. The 48 AF-1 is perhaps too big and more expensive. I hope they will upgrade the Metz 36 to include swivel function. That'll be great.

its not Nikon's flash has a thicker mount, its Nissin's flash which as a thicker mount.

tested on a Nikon flash and it fired flawlessly. tested on a Nissin Nikon mount and it refused to fire. have not tested a Nissin Canon mount though.

thanks for clarifying..

anyway...i've placed order for a falcon eye...

Nonono.. I have a D80 with a few lens and filters for years but not as poison as this!! It might be old but still LX3 cannot beat the picture quality. BUT!!! It is sleeping sweetly since i bought my LX3. I seldom have the urge to buy a flash for my old Nikon, but my LX3 has lots of toys to play with. -- OK, I admit. They sleep with the Nikon most of the time tongue.gif I'm just too lazy to drag the bulk out with me.
