Welcome to join the club! My advice is shoot shoot shoot!! By the time it dies u are good photographer already - then get an LX-4. hahahaa. Practice makes perfect, no matter how much u read from forum or books, u will never learn as fast as trying it out yourself. icon_rolleyes.gif

Or Maybe u r good photographer already sweat.gif Starter seldom look at LX-3 due to the size and price.

Yeah, if you look at the specs from a non photographer outlook.

zoom 2.5X = fail!
Lens cap = fail!
colour black = some like with other colours
megapixels 10? = too low.

Photographers outlook

Sensor size FTW
Good ISO image at 400
Wide angle 24mm (Closest to this is 28mm from rivals)
RAW = RARW!
External Flash!

Thats my argument anyway smile.gif.

oh my god i'm so glad to find this thread~! been lusting over the LX3 for a loooong time man. got quoted RM1500 yesterday, will dig further for a great price...

i'm going to NZ and i think the 24mm lens won't disappoint. i'm so over with those fancy compact cameras but not ready for a big brick of a DSLR. this should suit me fine. smile.gif

what is the cheapest price in KL/selangor ? and where is the shop ??

btw...24mm lens consider wide angle ?? i remember my canon ixus 890 is a wide angle 28mm

just keep shooting. when u look at ur own photo it is always like not nice, nothing to shoot. But if u look at other's, even shooting a pair of crocs, tooth brush in bathroom, ants around ur lef over food.. looks so nice. Don't try to look for "perfect" moment. Try to make use of what available, and freeze it with your camera.

There is always something nice around us. We r tooo used to them that we dun realized them. Photography actually changed our perception of life. We learn to appreciate things around us, and through sharing we learn and enjoy together.

It is not the equipment that make a good photo. It is the object, angle, composure, available lighting that we carefully "compose" - to include, or to exclude, to avoid or to highlight. we can always find a lot of good photo taken by very simple P&S. Equipment can only enhance and "try to" perfect it. So 90% of the time a good photo depends on your skill, not equipment - and LX3 is the tool that we use. It is more advantage to DSLR in the sense that we can easily take it around, and when we suddenly see something interesting, it is always available to give us an acceptable quality shot.

did they removed anything other than bug fix?

Strange.. I had problem with seeing the page when using Google Chrome (Maybe I keep visiting the site that it cached it). It keeps showing old page with suspended v2.0. Solved when using another browser (Firefox, IE), I think should be my cache setting. Anyway if u have same problem , just clear the cache or use another browser.

Hi, anybody tried this Vivitar new flash before on LX3?
Its specs says that it fully support TTL, and it's very cheap with good specs.
See below:

Anybody has idea on this?
