Went to a local camera shop just now and got to demo a GN50 Olympus flash unit

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Oct 20 2009, 02:25 PM) No it blasts at full power. I hafta use manual. The nice thing about this flash is the really compact size, just perfect for LX3/DL3 and the camera even stands on it's own nicely without falling over. It also has the ability to bounce. All other small flash cannot bounce. I didn't buy it for my compact anyway. It's what I use for my 5D MkII as a pop up flash replacement coz 5D doesnt have pop up flash 1. I'm too lazy to carry the 580EXII all the time. The 580EXII works on the LX3/DL4 too. Even more syiok, will never be short of light with that big mama. |

Saw the FL-220 mounted on a lx-3. IMHO looks ugly cost as much or slightly less than the Olympus FL-36R with remote sensor and can swivel in more directions. Not worth the asking price

I think just about any flash will make it top heavy because how light and small the LX-3 is. I tried using my dad's old ricoh flash and immediately it held like holding a brick. As mentioned before, it's easier to hold the flash rather then the camera it self haha.
What do you mean the LX3 and flash stand? You are using a tripod right? Should be ok, unless you use those cheap 3 point tripod that comes for free with most cameras. |

What I meant was if I attach the flash and put the LX3 on table, can the camera still stand, or the camera will tumble because the flash is too heavy, causing the weight not balanced. What do you mean the LX3 and flash stand? Well, my easiest advice for you would be go to a camera shop and try it for your self. Couldn't argue with that right
