Went to PC Fair this morning. PDA Expert is selling Hero. Printed on the flyers is RM2399. Promised to be given lower price and goodies. Didn't ask further.

Lox's HERO21 1.4 is a very testy ROM to me, so I flashed to his AOSP Eclair Beta 1 w/ gapps. An awesome ROM with a fast rebooting time. I said this is it. The best ROM without those HTC craps, and I'm going to stick with this ROM from now on.

But gawd damn I can't see certain app I bought e.g. twidroid PRO.

Fall back to MCR 3.0c ;_;

...okey lets say i wanna root... which version is the most updated n STABLE without bug? There are soooooooooo many versions on the net.. which should I root to? and I have setting & other things configured like my contacts etc.. am I able to backup everything when rooting to other version?

Mind show me a "how to root your hero" for dummies?

Thanks. I'll follow your step by step tutorial ... but before that.. I assume those steps doesnt include backup my data? Any application i must install to backup my contact data? sms? emails? bookmarks? i spend a lot of time linking my friend's fb to my google contacts.. so hope this doesnt mess it up

By the way.. has anyone try using the any FM transmitter with ur Hero... to play music in ur car? is it working? im looking for one..

If you use Google Contacts, you don't have to worry. Your contacts' FB profiles are synced with Google Contacts :-)

Ic.. so basically i have nothing else to worry.... how bout sms? but then is not as important ... So does that mean im ready to start the rooting without backing up?

clivengu... you could follow the Levi 's instructions...very easy and simple steps...i suggest you google the previous post...

The stable version ya...hmmm...you need to get advise from sifu Elmi or Levi....i just joint the gangs...

As levi advise...I've loaded MCR3.0c with TCK1.9 which fully working....ofcoz...market as well....

you can try this too.....as long as you understand wht you doin..theres no risk i think (for me) ...

im right now at this moment trying to root my Hero.. scary donno how serious will mess up...did mistake just now.... fail to find the "update" file... I follow Lev instruction.. rename d zip file as "update.zip" n i really go n Type in the ".ZIP" ends up it kind locate the file... so have to redo it..

Just wan to confirm.. for the first time.. i did the backup... it is saved as the "recovery-backup.img" am I correct? this will be the file that b4 i root? If anything goes wrong or I dont like i can aways change it back? Sorry actually b4 I take the steps... i havent fully understand what each of the steps does...

damn. i want the android tshrts. I got mine for 2250 at pda expert in sunway
but i got nothing for freebies :| except for screen protector.

Hey can any1 tell me how to set the APNS thing for Digi 3G? I cant seem to connect to any 3G right now after rooting... n tat oso means i cant sync my Contact with Google acc now ... anyone not sleeping yet?

For DiGi, you need to set another data account for MMS with the settings below :

6. Select HTTP and enter it and then you will find proxy address and proxy port. These are the most important part of setting up this GPRS/MMS.

7. Now for MMS, navigate to the MMS messaging area and you will find MMS Settings. Select Server Profile and edit any of those with these settings :
