first, are you on stock rom? or you bought 2nd hand and it is rooted?

yea i did connect to wifi
changed the date to august 2010 didnt disconnect and reconnet

bought it 1st hand...ori sis set...not rooted

some said september works for them, you can try it

Try disconnecting before changing the date, and reconnecting after.

I tried on my Nandroid backup of SIS 1.5 just now and got the OTA update message immediately when I connected to WiFi. I cancelled and change the date, disconnect, reconnect and got it again. But I didn't apply the update because I using AmonRA recovery image.

If WiFi doesn't work, maybe try Mobile network? Sometimes some ports on a router can be blocked.

one thing thats bugging me, is that i cant connect to the new TM's unifi wireless router. now trying to sort this thing out. does anyone encountered this problem too?

Using VillianRom 12 too! OC to 748mhz seems to totally make my phone hang right after i press SAVE. Currently OC to 710. Battery seems ok..but stock rooted 2.1 definitely saves more battery.

Bro, i follow the instructions in the link but still cant use Papago, when i open the program it says "Incorrect map info, pls insert Papago M7 card and restart program" in chinese , can anyone help me out with this, thanks

do you ext partition? If yes, villainrom already taken care of apps2sd. Dalvik2cache, so you don't have to do anything

which version of recovery r u using? if using latest, should have option to partition sd in recovery, if not. Check pinned thread for commands to partition

never mind. i get the steps from gooling. now when i click move apps to SD from recovery it moved succesfully.

but one question, i use 1GB sd card, and i set the ext to 256MB and remaining to FAT. is that ok?

Note that if u want to use Apps2sd recomended use class 4 above cards!

Haha yeah I missed my W995 when I sold it off too... that's why I bought it again.
Anyway, I think I'd choose the Nexus One because it's probably going to be the first phone that will get Android 3.0 Gingerbread later this year.
