hows the battery drain...gps..mms..all those basic functions working in 2.1? is it stable for normal day to day use?...man im tempted to go for 2.1...but not confident enough as there are still many bugs...

yes...htc annouce that including hero will get the 2.1 update..probably mid-march or early april....but if u like me cant wait to test the 2.1...u can flash the leak eris rom which already been optimized to work on hero..

ya just have to wait for htc releasing it soon..many articles already talked about it....for flashing roms..there is always possibility that it can brick your phone..but as long as you follow the guides on how to root..then the chance is very small..i for once flashed my hero 3 times last night..just make sure you read carefully before attempting.

all of them are pretty much the same..look at the ROMs first page to see the features...but all of them hv a common problem..battery drain..some say its fixed but not really confirmed..if u want to preview what the 2.1 android feels like..and dont mind a few bugs here n there..then try villainRom or Defiance..i tried both of them..but ended up back with senseHero 1.5

@C-note...radio means the baseband radio displayed at the phone info..not FM radio..hehe

android 2.1 fully support BT already..for the MMS..have you tried updating the HERO baseband radio? im not sure about it..just a suggestion

i recommend using mixzing player from the market..you can specify which folder to be your video/audio folder.

with OC kernel..official 2.1 Rooted Rom..the hero is blazing fast!...try Villain or Cronos as their roms are stable n fast...or vanila 2.1 roms if u want faster than fast hehe..

i got the same thing to when first installed my unifi,..try changing the wireless encryption type in your modem
