does ur 10.3 have problem synchronize with facebook contacts?
*
I have similar problem with 2.1 ROMs, been using 3 custom ROMs based on the 2.1 eclair (the one that recommended by paul, one by 42turkey at xda, also ChocolateEclaire by radu) all have problem to sync with FB contacts. Read somewhere that I have to wait for several days for the FB contacts to update but unfortunately my contact list still wont updating. However gallery can connect to FB by displaying list of friends and their galleries. Anyone else having the same issue?

So I don't know if this will work for everyone that is having this issue.. but it looks as though the apostrophe in my Irish last name may be causing my facebook sync issue.
- went to facebook and changed my last name (removed the apostrophe)
- removed the facebook htc sync on my phone from settings>Accounts & Sync
- re-added the Facebook for HTC sync
Then my contacts started loading.
I'm going to change it back to having the apostrophe later to see if it breaks it again.

lucky enough that my name also has hyphen/apostrophe even though I'm not an irish
now my FB contacts are appearing for syncing

I want official Android 2.1 update for my Hero... I hope the update will be available end of this month.

Will like to ask.. If I am bringing my my hero to the service center for upgrade... do I have to revert back the original ROM? Mine had been flashed with overseas Rom with Market. Will it void its warranty and they will not do for me.

I dont really remember how to flash a new ROM already and my phone now has too much info/data which now i don really dare to test flash like when i first got the phone tongue.gif

If anybody has updated with this new firmware, please post a review here. Right now using the rooted Taiwan ROM, quite happy with it.

Rooted or otherwise shouldnt be an issue. You'll still get the update if your firmware build qualifies you for it. In short, if you're on Cupcake, you'll get the update. A couple of things to note though. Firstly, you'll lose your root access if you accept the OTA on rooted sets. Secondly, there has been reports that the OTA wont install if you have a custom recovery image. So you might need to revert to the stock recovery image.

FUUU... I was thinking of getting N1 too. But I need the monies for my course. Hurr.

Edit: OK I downloaded the SEA 2.1 update, extracted the radio, made the update.zip.

This will update your radio to 63.18.55.06PU_6.35.15.14.

Download from MediaFire: http://is.gd/d3Mck
Download from Dropbox: http://is.gd/d3Mfp

YMMV. Enjoy your AIDS.

Since the official OTA will prevent rooting and installing custom recovery images, I'll just stick to MoDaCo's rooted Taiwan version.

LEVIATHAN: Thanks for posting the Singapore radio. I notice the name is slightly different from the Taiwan one. Do you recommend we use it?
CODE

63.18.55.06PU_6.35.15.14 - Singapore
63.18.55.06OU_6.35.15.01 - Taiwan

Is there a Malaysian version btw?

According to HTC Malaysia FB page, the update server is currently offline and will only resume its service on 1st July. blink.gif

@LEVI
Come on bro, make the jump. There are loads more toys on N1 and everything seems to be faster. I had to sell my soul to satan to get an N1 but it's totally worth it. laugh.gif
